Description
Hi! We are Mano (28) and Tuur (27), a couple from Belgium, together for over three years. Since September 2025, we’ve been travelling through Asia, visiting India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Laos. Travelling together has strengthened our teamwork, adaptability and problem-solving skills, and we love combining adventure with meaningful experiences, meeting new people, helping out, and learning practical skills along the way. We are both huge animal lovers and enjoy spending time with pets and wildlife wherever we go.
Mano grew up in the small village of Olen and spent 17 years in the youth movement Chiro, first as a member and later as a leader, which taught her responsibility, initiative and teamwork. She studied Construction Sciences in high school and completed a 5-year Master’s in Architecture at the University of Antwerp. After working nearly three years as an architect, she switched to teaching, taking on a full-time replacement role while completing a fast-track Bachelor in Education, combining work and study. Mano has also co-managed a summer bar with Tuur and her parents, taking care of operations, social media, finances and infrastructure. She enjoys hiking, chasing sunsets, skiing, snowboarding, travelling, and exploring new culinary experiences, and she thrives in both practical and creative tasks.
Tuur grew up in Geel and spent 15 years in the youth movement, developing teamwork, responsibility and adaptability. He holds Bachelor’s degrees in Construction and Real Estate Surveying, and completed a 4-month internship in Norway, working entirely in English and gaining independence in a new environment. He then worked for 3.5 years as a land surveyor, but realized he wanted a path that combines personal growth, adventure, and hands-on experiences. Tuur enjoys practical projects, including converting his own campervan, as well as cooking, BBQ, hiking, snowboarding, rock climbing, surfing and skydiving. He is also very comfortable helping with animals and outdoor projects.
Together, we make a reliable, enthusiastic and adaptable team, combining practical skills, creativity, and energy. We are comfortable with gardening, building, maintenance, hospitality, kitchen work, caring for animals, social media and administration, and we always take initiative, communicate well, and support each other.
We joined Workaway to experience the world more deeply, contribute to meaningful projects, and learn new skills while living and working alongside locals. We are particularly drawn to New Zealand and Australia for their stunning nature, adventure opportunities, and friendly communities. For us, Workaway is the perfect way to explore, give back, and create unforgettable experiences together.

We are motivated, hands-on, and flexible, and we genuinely enjoy contributing wherever needed. Our combined experiences in youth work, teaching, architecture, hospitality, and practical projects allow us to adapt to a wide variety of tasks quickly and effectively. We are responsible, trustworthy and respectful, and we love working with animals and nature. Whatever the project, we approach it with care, commitment, and a positive attitude, and we always aim to leave a place better than we found it. -

We are a hands-on, reliable and adaptable couple who love contributing wherever we can. Mano brings organisation, creativity and teaching experience, while Tuur adds practical construction skills, problem-solving abilities, and technical knowledge.
Together, we are comfortable with gardening, building, maintenance, DIY projects, hospitality, kitchen work, managing small projects, and caring for animals, and we always take initiative and work efficiently as a team.
Growing up in youth movements and managing projects like a summer bar has taught us responsibility, teamwork, and how to support each other, while travelling extensively has made us flexible, independent, and eager to learn new skills. We approach every task with care, curiosity and a positive attitude, and love being part of projects that make a difference. -
