  • Description

We are Nic and Luke, we’ve been married for three years and live full time in our van Tribby. We left our stressful, conventional jobs to travel and enjoy life.

We love learning new skills and being active. We feel that we are at our best when we have a purpose and are making some kind of difference, whether this be personally, individually or as part of a team. We love walking, and working out at the gym, feeling strong and healthy brings us joy and has shown what consistence, persistence and determination can achieve. We have recently undertaken the Trek 26 Marathon South Devon Coast Path in support of Alzheimer’s Research.

Luke and I have lived and worked closely together over the past three years which has brought us great happiness and lots of laughter. We have overcome challenges both personally and within our work environments, uniting as a strong and cohesive partnership.

We love travelling, meeting new people, animals, eating and being active.

More details about my language interests
I lived in Germany for many years growing up however this was within British Forces Germany which meant limited interaction with native German speakers. I would love to learn more if possible. Luke studied German as part of his degree and loves immersing himself in new languages and cultures.

  • More details about your skills

I have experience of working with people including; as a Custody Officer for young offenders, a Social Worker for ten years, a campsite warden and various hospitality roles.

I left my job as a Social Worker and my husband Luke left his as an Investment Banker, to travel in our small motorhome. I felt that although I found Social Work rewarding and I enjoyed it, it was frustrating and I didn’t feel fulfilled. Luke decided that he wanted a change from his role in finance.
Luke had previously undertaken a three month sabbatical to train with the Shaolin monks in China, this led him to wanting to further discover the world and what it has to offer, along with what he has to offer it. Luke trains and has instructed in wing Chun, Kung Fu for over eighteen years.

Luke and I have worked as campsite wardens for two years (2021-2023) where we have gained knowledge in many areas from reception duties to grounds maintenance. We have learnt lots of different skills including concreting, painting, lawn care, scarifying, rotavating, building walls, cladding, hedge trimming, tree work and renovations. We loved this role and were asked to stay on longer, which we decided against due to wanting to broaden our horizons.

Most recently Luke and I have worked in a busy seaside pizza restaurant and also an award winning B&B. This has given us further hospitality experience in relation to cooking, prepping food, housekeeping and customer service. We feel fulfilled when people are happy because of the things we have done and really enjoy making people smile. Luke and I work very well together, we are both extremely motivated to provide the highest of standards to whatever we take on and are not afraid to get stuck in.

We also house and pet sit and this has provided us with our ‘dog fix’, we would really love a dog at some point but couldn’t get one yet as it wouldn’t be fair. We pride ourselves on being extremely reliable, open and honest.
We take the care of other peoples’ pets and houses very seriously and have many wonderful references reflecting this.
