  • Description

    I'm an easygoing but hardworking and dependable 30-something with itchy feet, a silly sense of humour and the ability to talk to and get on with anybody. I'm confident and very capable, pro-active and reliable, and I learn new things really quickly.

    I don't take up a lot of space, eat most things and know how to clean up after myself. I can cook for me or a crowd, on a campfire or in a kitchen, and am happy to do so in most circumstances. I'm currently sans vehicle but have a tent, strong legs and googling public transport hasn't let me down yet.

    I've spent the last 3 seasons in a caravan at a camping and glamping site in Lincolnshire, UK where I've been living and working with a very close knit team of 4. As Front of House Manager, my main responsibilities revolved around the on-site pub and reception, including (but not limited to) check in and guest services, complaints management and creative problem solving, managing a small team of bar and waiting staff, hosting, helping in the kitchen, handling the social media, liaising with bands, writing the pub quiz... and whatever else needed doing.

    My other work experience includes pub and club management, festival work, customer service, complaints handling, tech support, TEFL teacher, postie, freelance writing, web design, and facilities management.

    So, in short, I'm REALLY good at hospitality and anything involving making sure customers are treated fairly and get the best possible service.

    Voluntary experience includes more hospitality via Workaway, event work and fundraising for Macmillan, and regular hours as a volunteer crisis counsellor for Shout!

    I studied French for 10+ years so it's definitely passable but rusty and a week in Spanish school last year got me to A2 level so I guess it's fair to say I'm a beginner but I learn quickly!

    TL,DR;
    - 37, F, UK, physically fit, non-smoker, social drinker, no drugs, omnivore / flexitarian diet, no allergies; LGBTQ friendly
    - 20 years work experience in various customer-facing roles inc. hospitality, tech support, team management and complaints resolution.
    - 3 years helping manage a camping and glamping site (inc. reception, bar, housekeeping);
    - Highly computer literate, inc. various CRM / project management / online booking systems;
    - Proficient in Wordpress, basic web design, website management;
    - Experience in SEO, content writing, Google and FB ads, email marketing, social media;
    - Trinity Cert. TESOL; Google Digital Marketing Certificate; Personal Alcohol Licence; First Aid Certificate; L2 Food & Hygiene Certificate; Enhanced DBS Certificate; Full clean UK Driving Licence
    - Native English, College-level French, A2 Spanish (but improving), A1 German;
    - References available

    Currently running a pub for the second time in my life and I'd forgotten how much I love it AND just how naturally it comes to me. Behind a bar is my happy place but I'm pretty much an expert when it comes to front of house, customer service and complaints management.

    The pub is part of a camping and glamping site so I've also got housekeeping, campsite booking and management, commercial kitchen, and team management experience.

    I'm also a qualified TEFL teacher (I got my Trinity Certificate in Prague in 2014) and I love language. I speak fluent (A-level and a bit more) but rusty French, basic German and I'm successfully learning Spanish ready for my trip to Peru in a few months. I've also got a smattering of tourist level Italian, Portuguese, Czech, Welsh...

    During lockdown I was working from home as a freelance writer and also dabbled in web design, digital marketing, outbound email campaigns, Print on Demand, affiliate marketing, blogging, social media marketing etc and I'm pretty well versed in the basics.

    I can follow instructions when it comes to gardening but, to be honest, I'm mostly an enthusiastic labourer who doesn't mind heavy work in any weather - having been a postwoman in the Welsh mountains during Winter! I'm super keen to learn and stronger than I look :)
