  • Description

I was born and raised in Japan, a country known for its unique culture, beautiful nature, and warm people. I am 25 years old and began my master's degree in childhood psychology in the UK this September.

My focus is on childhood development, learning new culture, acquiring new paerpectives, so I enjoy spending time with children while learning about education systems worldwide. I am also passionate about cultural exchange, as meeting people from different countries broadens my perspectives and helps me appreciate diverse cultures.

I have experience teaching Japanese to university students in the UK and enjoy helping others learn languages. As a language learner myself, I understand the challenges and believe that conversations is the best ways to improve. Therefore, I would like to improve my English skills through talking with you and your family, sharing knowledge, and learning about your culture.

During my academic breaks, I aim to engage in practical activities that deepen my understanding of well-being, children, and family systems, particularly in Scandinavia and rural Europe. I am especially drawn to Scandinavia's social systems and rich natural environment.

My goal is to apply these experiences to enhance well-being support and foster children’s development in Japan while promoting global perspectives.

Scandinavia is renowned for its stunning natural beauty and rich landscapes. I would love to learn about the culture of your home, even if it’s just for a short time. I’m eager to learn and, at the same time, look forward to supporting you in any way I can!

Before starting my studies, I worked as a business consultant, so I can assist with office tasks like Excel, PowerPoint, and project management.

I also have experience teaching children aged 9 to 17 and volunteering at a center for children with special needs, including supporting my sister, who has Down's syndrome. These experiences have taught me to adapt to diverse needs, making me confident in assisting families.

Cooking, especially baking, is one of my hobbies, and I would love to exchange traditional recipes. I can also help with meal preparation or any households.

After this Workaway experience, I hope to become a well-being specialist focusing on children in Japan, integrating insights from Nordic and rural European cultures to support holistic development.

I will be available from mid-December to January and from May to August 2025. I view this as a precious opportunity to learn flexibly and contribute meaningfully, and I look forward to connecting with you!
