Description
Hello, my name is Tara. I am 20 years old and I grew up in Germany. Right now, I live in Stuttgart to study Waldorf Education there. I grew up in Berlin with my mom and my little brother. My grandparents lived very close, only two minutes away.
I have been to a few countries, but now I want to try a new way of traveling. I want to be closer to the culture and do something meaningful.
I love being in nature. I often go for long walks or hikes. Being outside makes me feel calm and free.
I enjoy music and singing with other people. I recently started learning to play the guitar again. I like drawing and painting, and I also enjoy working with clay.
I love yoga, even though I am not very flexible . As well I love reading and getting lost in a good story. I am very interested in plants and I want to learn more about them.
I am open-minded, friendly and curious about new places, people and ways of living. Traveling gives me a strong feeling of freedom, and I hope to experience this feeling through Workaway while learning and helping others.
I feel most myself when life is simple and close to nature. Through Workaway, I hope to live slowly, help with daily tasks and connect with people and places in a meaningful way. -

More details about your skills
I have gained a wide range of practical and creative experiences throughout my life and I am very motivated to continue learning and expanding my skills. From a young age, I often helped my grandfather in the garden - planting flowers, watering, trimming hedges and taking care of general garden work. Through this, I discovered how much I enjoy working with nature.
I also have hands-on experience in crafts and DIY projects. For example, I built a bench from wooden pallets myself and painted it white, and I sanded and re-varnished our dining table. I especially enjoy working creatively with clay: I have hand-built my own plates and made two bowls and a cup on the pottery wheel. At the moment, I am deepening these skills through my university studies, where I am learning one month long how to work sculpturally with clay.
I grew up with cats and therefore learned early on how to care for animals in a responsible and attentive way. In general, I have a deep interest in plants, their effects, their preparation and the natural cycles of nature. I would love to learn more about growing and caring for plants and plan to start my own garden bed this spring. This is why I am particularly excited to help out in the garden and gain more practical knowledge.
In addition, I have extensive experience working with children. I worked for six months in an after-school care program at a primary school, regularly took care of children in my family and social circle, and I am involved in social work by giving tutoring lessons. Through my studies to become a Waldorf teacher, I have been able to deepen my pedagogical knowledge and have already completed a school internship. Working with children brings me a lot of joy, and I am patient, empathetic and responsible.
In my free time, I am learning to play the guitar, enjoy learning painting, and love designing and decorating living spaces - sometimes just in my head, sometimes using apps. I also enjoy cooking and baking and am always happy to discover new recipes. I have basic skills in crocheting and knitting as well.
I am very open-minded, motivated and eager to learn - especially in the areas of gardening and practical, hands-on work - and I look forward to contributing, learning new skills and gaining meaningful experiences. -

What else ...
For me, the meaning of life is connection – connection with myself, with other people, with nature and with the world. I feel myself the most when I am present and really aware of what is happening around me.
To feel this connection, I love spending time in nature and helping with daily work. I am especially interested in permaculture, gardening and working with plants. I am happy to learn step by step, even if I am still a beginner, and I enjoy seeing how nature changes through care and time.
I am also very interested in learning practical and handwork skills. Using my hands and body, working outside and learning by doing gives me a strong feeling of grounding and calm.
I really enjoy working with people, especially with children. Spending time with children makes me truly happy, and I love being creative together, for example by making music. Sharing music feels natural and connecting to me.
Helping with animals is something I feel very excited about. Because I grew up in a city, being around animals still feels new and special to me. I would love to learn how to care for them in a respectful and calm way.
Through Workaway, I hope to live close to nature, help where I am needed, learn new skills and grow through real connections – with people, animals and the natural world. -
