I am motivated and inspired by our natural world, and the many aspects that I can learn from. We do live in a City, in Portland, Oregon, and I appreciate being close to urban life and all that entails, but we are fortunate that Portland is a very green city, and close to forests, mountains and coast, and I also grew up in the Yorkshire countryside in England, so my heart is in the countryside.
I am also inspired by many fellow humans, in their kindness, generosity, and commitment to bringing all beings together and creating a thriving future for all.
The above bring me happiness, as does my family. Mostly, my partner, Stephen, and our three year old, Seb, who are so much fun to be with, to explore with and to learn from.
I have been a 'traveller' since my late teenage years, and have had the opportunity to spend time in many countries. As the years have gone by I have found greater enjoyment in slower travel, spending longer in one place, and connection to the community of beings in that place.
Climate change education is something I am passionate about and so learning about the ways that people and places around the world are feeling and experiencing climate change, and building opportunities for connected and interdisciplinary education is particularly interesting me to as I spend time in places.Languages

Caz is the planner and project manager. Coming from a working career in event production and management I am a whizz with organizing, prioritising, scheduling, budgeting and all the things people often don't like to do.
Organizing and planning aside, I love to cook, with what is available to make up dishes and combinations forr any number of people.
I grew up with animals in the countryside, spending lots of time taking care of horses and goats, so I am comfortable and experienced taking care of these animals, and other farm animals.
Whilst I am not a qualified teacher, I have facilitated training, supported curriculum building and studies leadership in sustainability education. Whilst studying I spent time with environmental education organisations, both in classroom settings and out in place learning at farms, gardens and forests, so I have experience and understanding in sustainability education through non-hierarchical, holistic approaches. I also spent time in Argentina completing a TEFL course and then teaching English to young learners and professionals there.

Doing a workaway as a family with a three year old, and staying with a family, adds a dynamic, but is a fun and vibrant learning experience. We really appreciated the family sharing their space, toys, time, experiences and understanding with us and… read more
This small family stayed with me for almost two weeks. They were lovely house guests and left the cottage very clean and tidy.
While Caz and Stephen have researched soil restoration in a broad sense, as urban dwellers, they were new to the concept of syntropic growing and were willing to take instruction for chopping and… read more
