My next destination:
Canada - from Jul 2025 until Oct 2025 View allDescription
Who doesn't love an adventure? I have always had a passion for travelling, and seeing new cultures. I worked as a Flight Attendant for 17 years which helped me fulfil my dreams and travel to far off places. There are gazillions of places left that I'd love to explore!
I don't seem to stay in one place too long, and travelling is the thing that brings me the most happiness. The planning, imagining what it will be like, the reality and the memories, all put a smile on my face.
I've lived near the beach, in the snow, in a tiny village and right in the heart of the city. I am a triple citizen, Australian, New Zealander and Canadian.
As I'm getting older, I find I want to tick off more places before I get too crotchety to get around. I am a single empty nester, so my time is now! I'm a newbie to Workaway, and am thrilled that it exists, as it seems to be the perfect way to live my dreams!Interests

More details about your skills
I've worn many hats in my time, and currently work with people, with disabilities. Shift work seems to agree with me as no two days are the same. I get a great deal of enjoyment with hanging out and assisting others. I have regular clients who have said they will miss me when I go travelling, but I assure them I will be back.....eventually :-). I've used many disability aids and have worked with people, young and older, with both physical and mental disabilities.
Previous to my current job, I was a Real Estate agent selling homes. I've owned quite a few homes in my time and have renovated and built homes. I've almost always got bruises, paint in my hair or dirt under my nails from some project I'm working on. I don't like spending money on jobs I can do myself, and will give most things a go, from installing new door handles, planting turf/gardening to buffing the cloudiness from my car headlights. I won't throw anything away if I can pull it apart and fix it myself. I don't like the thought of the amount of waste that is sent to landfill, that could have been reused.
I have worked in a lot of office settings so my computer skills are fair. I am frequently asked by clients and my elderly parents, to help with setting up their wifi, printers or new phones etc I'm not a tech head, but will again try to find how things work, and give it a go fixing it before bringing in a professional. I love looking into ways to save money, be it with phone or internet plans, or gas and electricity.
I'm also an animal lover, the most honest of creatures. If I could spend some time with a dog or cat, my heart would overflow. I don't have any pets myself anymore, but have owned cats, a dog, fish and a hamster in the past.
The thing I'm proudest of and my greatest success so far,has been my incredible daughter, who I raised mostly as a single mum. She is 22, has just graduated from the University of NSW and started full time work in Sydney. I love being a mum, and every day we are getting closer, She makes me proud. Hopefully one day she'll bring me some grand babies!Age

What else ...
Being near the water is a drawcard for me. I'd love to spend more time swimming, kayaking etc.
