  • Description

    Hi everyone!

I'm Stine (pronounced Stina), a 28-year-old from Denmark. I'll be embarking on a year-long journey across Australia starting in October 2023. Although I've visited Australia in the past for my studies, this time I'm returning on a working holiday visa for a deeper and more enriching experience.

Discovering new destinations and immersing in diverse cultures brings me so much joy. My curiosity drives my passion for the unknown, making me always eager for fresh adventures. Workaway is my preferred mode of travel, as it allows me to connect with people worldwide, fostering self-reflection and personal growth.

More details about my language interests
Right now, I'm teaching myself Spanish, and my interest in it was sparked by a two-month stay in Costa Rica this past summer. I did study French for three years during my time in gymnasium in Denmark, though it's a bit rusty now. Still, I really love the language and would like to learn and practice it again. I became fluent in English while going to college in California back in 2016.

  • More details about your skills

My skillset draws amongst other things from my experiences in restaurant and event management and my educational background in intercultural marketing communication. As a former restaurant manager, I've honed my skills in team building, customer service, and operations management as well as cooking. I excel in creating a welcoming and efficient experience in any setting. My degree in Intercultural marketing communication taught me how to navigate and communicate in different cultural settings.

Recently, I ventured into the world of education as a substitute teacher at a boarding school for teenagers, further broadening my skillset. This role has nurtured my patience, adaptability, and mentorship abilities, as I guide and inspire young minds.

My upbringing in the Danish countryside instilled in me an appreciation for hands-on and physically demanding tasks that often require getting my hands dirty, be it painting a house or tending to gardens and animals.

I've travelled a bunch and lived in various places, from countryside and jungles to big cities, and these diverse experiences have sharpened my adaptability, acceptance, resourcefulness, and ability to make the most of every situation.

Taking care of the environment means a lot to me, and I have a deep love for nature and outdoor activities. This is what motivates me to support sustainable practices and conservation efforts, and I'm looking forward to continuing this in Australia.

I have a passion for taking on projects, fueled by my enthusiasm for problem-solving, creativity, and the satisfaction of bringing ideas to fruition. In other words - very open and ready to embrace fresh challenges and make a meaningful impact in any endeavor.

  • What else ...

Here's a little about my interests:

I'm very curious about scientific discoveries that can improve human life, so I regularly listen to podcasts like Huberman Lab, Lifespan with Dr. David Sinclair, and the Tim Ferris Show. Additionally, I enjoy reading books on various topics such as sleep, longevity, breath work, plant medicine, neurobiology, and intriguing biohacks like temperature therapy. I'm actively experimenting with these concepts in my daily routines.

Spending time in nature brings me immense happiness, and I also have a passion for outdoor activities that get my adrenaline flowing, like paragliding, skydiving, parasailing, and mountain biking. I intend to embark on the journey of learning kitesurfing.

I enjoy live music, attending concerts and festivals as both a guest and a volunteer.

Furthermore, I've long had a desire to learn how to sail. Given my deep appreciation for the ocean and the simple joy of being on a boat, I'm genuinely excited about the prospect of acquiring this new skill some day.

I'm inherently curious, always eager to learn and connect with new people.
