  • Description

We are a team consisting of Lucas (27) from Argentina and Stine (30) from Denmark. We are back in paradise — Australia — where our story began. Traveling along the coast and looking for meaningful Workaway experiences along the way. For us, Workaway is an excellent way to travel: connecting with people and contributing to the places we visit rather than just passing through.

We’re both nature lovers who enjoy the ocean, and living a simple life close to nature. We are positive, appreciative people who are happy to help wherever needed and always ready to learn new skills.

    STINE

I value community life and caring for both the environment and the people around me. Efficiency, open communication, and curiosity are also important values in my life. I enjoy living outdoors and exploring natural surroundings.

What I bring most is a positive attitude, reliability, and the ability to jump in and help wherever needed. I enjoy learning new skills, working alongside others, and helping bring projects to life.

I first came to Australia during a semester abroad as part of my studies in Denmark, and it’s a place I’ve returned to many times since.

Over the years I’ve done several Workaways along the east coast of Australia. I enjoy practical work and I’m quite handy — comfortable with anything from using tools and a paintbrush to helping with cooking, cleaning and general household tasks. Unfortunately the reviews from my previous profile haven’t transferred to this new couples profile, but the common feedback from hosts has been that I’m positive, efficient, adaptable, independent and reliable.

I enjoy gardening and growing food. I have experience caring for children as well — I lived with and helped raise my niece during the first years of her life, acting very much as a third parent (she’s now four years old). I enjoy spending time with children and supporting their curiosity and creativity through play, learning and exploration.

My educational background is in intercultural marketing and communication, as well as experience design and event management. These studies have given me a strong understanding of people, communication and creating positive experiences.

The ocean has played an important role in my time in Australia. I’ve worked on several vessels in the Whitsundays and in Port Douglas, which has given me a deep appreciation for life at sea and the coastal lifestyle.

I’ve travelled extensively and lived in many different environments — from countryside and jungles to large cities. These experiences have strengthened my adaptability, resourcefulness and ability to quickly settle into new places and situations.

I have a deep appreciation for our natural environments, which motivates me to support sustainable practices and conservation wherever I can.

    LUCAS

I am passionate about living and experiencing the world in all of its shapes. A huge part of this is interacting with other humans.

I believe the people we surround ourselves with shape who we are and who we become. I come from a family where living by our values, work, knowledge, and interesting multidisciplinary conversations are a central part of everyday life. Most of my friends are also successful professionals from different fields, providing me an informal network of trusted advisors.

I have a civil engineering degree, which has given me a deep understanding of resource management and the long-term impact of our actions on the balance between human development and nature.

My technical background includes areas such as construction, geology, hydrology, structures, technology of materials and environmental engineering, among others.

My main skills include problem identification and solving, critical thinking, and the ability to work with all kinds of tools. I am practical, resourceful and I enjoy understanding how things work and finding efficient ways to improve them. I value clear communication and teamwork.

My hands-on experience includes boats, houses, caravans, and relationships—building, repairing, and maintaining them, always with a holistic approach.

My main interests are inner development, biology, physics, cultures, and the human mind. This has led me to explore many different fields through books, study, and conversations with highly enriching children and adults.

I am a free diver, scuba diver, lifelong fisherman, and nature person. I enjoy being barefoot, animal spotting, sports and an active and proactive lifestyle.

My approach to life is based on joy, curiosity, learning, and growth, with a great sense of humor, always aiming to become more aware of who I am.

Through volunteering, I find great opportunities to connect and contribute with people and their dreams, to places, and with myself.
