Description
Hi :)
We are Adriano and Sólja.
Adriano is a software engineer (beep boop). He completed an apprenticeship and worked as an app developer for a while. Wanting to deepen his background knowledge, he started studying computer science at university. This contains a surprising amount of mathematics. Sólja is extremely fed up with universities and is currently selling bread at the farmers` market. That contains a surprisingly little amount of math and a lot of getting up early.
We've been living together for over a year and recently decided to go on more adventures, have a look at how other people live, gather useful skills, practice Italian, and get to know people from all over the world. From September on, Adriano will be attending classes in Perugia as an Erasmus Student. Sólja is still looking for useful things to do and places to stay in the area. Ideally, we would like to find a workaway close enough to the city of Perugia that it's possible to go there by bike and/or bus. Sólja would work a little extra to make up for the time Adriano spends at University.
It would be especially great for us to not just work with our host, but also to socialize, speak some Italian, get immersed in their life a bit. Neither of us are big into parties, we prefer to have a good time with boardgames, swapping stories and exploring the surroundings. If the opportunity arises, we would enjoy taking trips by bike, climbing or swimming.
Looking forward to getting to know you! -

We would love a bit of a language exchange. Adriano is far better in Italian than Sólja. Sólja is slightly better in English and has some rudimentary university knowledge about the theory of teaching and translating. -

More details about your skills
We are both good at improvising and solving problems with what we have at hand. We like to cook and bake. We have some experience in heroic fights agains blackberries and nettles, harvesting vegetables and fruits (mainly apples, cherries, berries) and making different kinds of preserves (sauerkraut, pickles, chutneys, jam). Sólja has dabbled in making wine- (eh) and vinegar (yum).
Adriano is an amateur carpenter and has build some of our furniture out of reclaimed wood. He also knows his way around a sewing machine and likes to knit during lectures or leisure time. Sólja prefers crafting with plastic (trying to replace that with more sustainable alternatives though) and metal. She has volunteered on a museum ship for a year (mainly painting&co, a tiny bit of woodworking, smithing and stonemasonry) and helped former housemates at fachwerkhuhn (www.fachwerkhuhn.de) with restoration of the historic half-timbered house (A lot of deconstruction, some painting, some clay plaster, a little bit of tending to the chickens).
Both of us have volunteered at church and local non-religious organizations with youth groups and kid's projects. -
