Hey I'm Shanti a biologist student from Hamburg.

I have chronic "Fernweh". Fernweh is a german expression, it is the opposite of being homesick, you're feeling "sick" because you miss the unknown, different cultures and countries, something new.

I'm a very curious, open-minded person and enjoy experiencing life in another culture. Furthermore I'm an extrovert, striving for harmony and bubbly. When I'm home I like to read books and to write poetry. I consider myself an intersectional feminist and try to educate myself about different forms of discrimination. I try my best to work for a society with less injustice and a climate and nature friendly way of living.
When I'm stressed out I like to be outside in nature and forget a little bit about the outside world.

Graduation:
I have graduated Highschool, and I am in my final year studying my biology bachelor.

Work experience:

Childcare: I have worked for 8 years in childcare (age 1-14 years), as a babysitter and as an assistant in schools with kids with disabilities and in primary schools

Social worker: I did a three weeks long internship at an work community with people with disability

Waiter/cook assistant: I helped out in my mother’s restaurant and store for several years, I can cook basic to middle advanced vegan meals

Biology tutor: I helped Highschool students with biology and did tours for tourist in a national park in Sweden

Gardening/Housekeeping: I grew up partly in the countryside and I also did an internship in a national park

Handicraft: I was educated at a Waldorf school and now sewing, knitting, how to use a drill and other basic stuff and could improve my skills at the national park.

Animals: I know basic horse riding and maintenance as I used to ride in my free time. I had a cat and have some experience with work on a dairy farm.

Computer skills: I know basic Office

Languages:
My mother language is German. I can also speak English and basic Spanish and Swedish (A1)

Experience abroad:

I've been to Denmark, Spain, Portugal, India, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Austria, United States America, Canada, Morocco, Namibia, Indonesia, Turkey, Hungary, Norway to travel/for vacation.
Moreover, I attended a Waldorf school in Buenos Aires Argentina for three months and lived together with my guest family.
I also did an Erasmus semester in Sweden, Uppsala and an internship in Småland in Sweden in a national park.
