Description

Hi! My name is Sandhya, I’m a 30-year-old woman from Italy.

My English isn’t perfect yet, but I’m motivated to improve it. I’m not afraid of making mistakes, communicating and learning along the way.

I’m currently taking a sabbatical from my usual life because I feel the need to discover new perspectives, experiences and different ways of living. I study philosophy, and I’m interested in discovering new places, cultures and points of view.

I’m a calm, quiet and respectful person. I value personal space, both mine and other people’s, and I enjoy simple and genuine human connections. I love listening to different points of view because I believe that every person has something to teach.

I love nature, especially mountains and forests. Whenever I can, I take my backpack and tent and spend some time outdoors. I would love to learn more about the natural world and discover how other people live in closer connection with nature.

I’m currently travelling by car, looking for new stories, experiences and people to meet along the way. I’ve already had two Workaway experiences in Spain, and I’d love to continue discovering this way of travelling and living.

For me, Workaway is not just a place to stay. It’s an opportunity to help, learn, share experiences and grow through genuine connections with people.

I would really like to improve my English, especially through everyday conversations and spending time with people. I’m also interested in learning German or Norwegian, but I’m open to any language and any opportunity to learn. I’d be very happy to exchange languages and help others practice Italian too.

I have a technical background and experience in the electrical systems sector and in technical drawing, including work in the naval field. I’m used to solving practical problems, working carefully and precisely, and learning new things quickly.

I have also worked in the hospitality sector and have experience with hotel cleaning. I learned to work in an organized and efficient way, while paying attention to spaces and details.

I spent many years in the Scouts, which taught me how to live outdoors, work in a team, be independent and adapt to different situations.

I enjoy working with my hands. I like painting, drawing, working with wood and creating things. I’m not a professional, but I enjoy practical and creative work and I’m always happy to learn. I can help with painting, cleaning, gardening, organizing spaces, basic maintenance and small DIY projects.

I’m not very confident in cooking yet, but I would really like to learn. I would be happy to discover and prepare traditional local dishes wherever I stay.

I’m a calm and respectful person. I’m not intrusive, I like having my own space and I always respect the spaces and routines of other people. I’m happy to help and I adapt easily to different environments.

I learn quickly and I’m not afraid of doing something new or making mistakes. For me, being helpful, reliable and having a positive attitude are just as important as having previous experience.

I’m also very interested in learning about nature. I love mountains, forests, lakes and rivers, and I would be happy to help with outdoor or nature-related activities while learning more about the environment around me.

I have a special connection with Norway, where I have already travelled twice, and I would love to discover more of the country in the future.

I enjoy staying active and trying different sports. I currently practice rowing and climbing, but I have always enjoyed exploring new activities.

I’m a curious person and I like discovering new places, learning from other people and trying things I have never done before.
