Description
Living in London for all of my life has been a blessing when it comes to the friends I've made and the opportunities around me. However I do feel a disconnect from nature, which I think is true for a lot of people in big cities. The moments I've felt most at peace and content are when I'm getting my hands dirty, be it through gardening, constructing or scrambling up a hill. I love animals and although the UK has its wonderful wildlife I know I've yet to experience other beautiful places and the organisms that dwell there. In my short life I've come to realise that movement is very important for me so having a balance of playing a sport, exercising or lifting heavy really helps me enjoy my day.
A big reason I've signed up for Workaway is because I believe there are like minded people that have the knowledge and passion when it comes to the lifestyle and projects I can see myself taking up in the future.
In summary I'm a simple man who enjoys movement in the outdoors, working hard, watching wildlife, and maybe a beer from time to time. -

More details about your skills
- I've always been a creative and enjoy sketching and painting (ig: salv_does_art). I would be helpful in creative projects that require attention to detail as well as adding fun or abstractness.
- Completed my Undergraduate degree in Zoology at Sussex University, which has given me a base knowledge on the importance of environmental projects and how much planning, specialities and volunteers are needed within these fields.
- I have a Distinction in Level 2 site carpentry (City & Guilds). Working for Mears for 3 years, (they maintain properties for the council), which has made me efficient in handling tools. It also gave me the confidence to renovate my kitchen for my mother (which involved flooring, plumbing, removing the hob/oven, cutting a new worktop out and tiling)
- I frequently cook for me and my mum so I'm competent in the kitchen. -

What else ...
I enjoy playing chess even though I'm not that great (can teach you if you don't know). I like to play card games, always like learning new ones. I really enjoy learning/practicing martial arts or combat sports. I am into mountain biking and bouldering (I have climbed trees but never climbed rocks outside of a climbing gym). Honestly enjoy trying new things even if they are scary.
