Surfing, yoga, meditation, art (particularly watercolour), hiking, cooking, music... lot's of things!
My next destination:
Byron Bay, Australia - from Aug 2025 until Dec 2025 View allDescription
I'm a primary school teacher/ yogi/ surfer/ artist/ human from the UK who's relocating to Australia for some time as of August 2025. I spent a year living in NSW and a year living in Northland, New Zealand and connected with the vibration and energy of the land in this part of the world.
I’m extremely passionate about the outdoors, the ocean, animals (especially horses! I’ve been riding since I was 3) and all things nature. Australia and Australian’s really reflect these passions in their culture which is part of the reason I found my time so spiritually fulfilling. Meditation, yoga and artistic endeavours also help me to hone this love of Mother Earth and in my experience, Workawayers and hosts have reflected this outlook and I've had such a positive experience thus far!
I’m a super hard worker and my motivation is always boosted when I’m surrounded by other people who are passionate about the work they’re doing, whether it’s surf coaching, working on a farm, charity volunteer work.
Long term, I plan to by teaching in the January 2026 school year so in the meantime getting to live within the Byron Bay/Mullumbimby/Lennox Head area gives me a great opportunity to get to understand the area and the inhabitants before taking this next step.Interests

More details about your skills
My skills are very varied as I’ve been fortunate enough to have had many unique life experiences throughout my childhood and early adult life!
- I grew up on and around farms, so I’m comfortable working with all kinds of farm animals (I even looked after a family friend’s alpaca one summer!)
- I'm a qualified primary school teacher and have a lot of childcare experience and expertise so a able to help out with the little ones if needed.
- Experience in gardening passed down through my mum who is an avid gardener with a beautifully developed space full of flowers and nourishing food for our household.
- Full clean drivers’ license since 2017 with experience driving automatic and manual cars, vans and trucks.
- Masses of ‘customer facing roles’ from hospitality to retail and I’ve previously worked as a very successful recruiter, which is to say my communication and teamwork skills are excellent.
- Barista who makes a yum coffee.
- My mum is originally from Iran so if you’re looking for an amazing cook I’m your girl.
- Random one, but I’m very organised with both my time and physical workload making me a really efficient worker.
- Lots of experience working with children as a babysitter, tutor and role model figure for charities such as Place2Be, where I went to local schools in Edinburgh and met weekly with children experience difficulties at home.Age

What else ...
I believe I covered a lot in the description but overall my main interests include horse riding, surfing, yoga, meditation and breath work, art and creative endeavours and connecting to Mother Earth. I grew up around cows, horses, sheep and chickens and at home cats and dogs. I love to travel and engage in new cultures by learning from locals and their environmental practices.
I am a qualified primary school teacher and love working with children and learning from them as they learn from me, I plan to continue my teaching career in Australia at a school that reflects my outlook on life, where exploration and earthly connection is at the forefront of education. I also hold a first class degree in film, and this links to my pursue of creative endeavours that is ongoing and developing.
My mum completely instilled in me a love of food too, in my home she really showed her love through cooking and we grew up eating lots of food from her home country of Iran, which she left in the 1970s to the UK. I find that food is an amazing way to get in touch with the culture of a country and as often as I can I share Iranian food with friends. I love when people cook me food from their home countries too because who doesn’t like yummy food! Some more information
