Hey there! Thank you for clicking on my page!

My name is Rich, I come from the UK/Denmark, have lived in five different countries and am coming to Taiwan to travel, teach and learn Mandarin for one year.

I visited Taipei when I was 18 years old and I really fell in love with the kindness of the people, the beauty of the city and the peaceful way of life. Since then, I have often looked for opportunities to return to Taiwan (to study my bachelors or my masters degree, for example) but now it seems that it is finally the right time for me to make the trip I have been dreaming of for the last 13 years :)

A few quick points about me: I have been an architect for many years, mostly working with natural materials like clay and bamboo, and so I love design, sustainable living projects, graphic design and making things with my hands. In recent years I have changed from architecture to teaching English and German, and in my spare time I love video editing, spoken word poetry and learning new languages.

I would describe myself as a very social, curious, easy-going, empathetic and positive person.

More details about my language interests
I am a TEFL/TESOL Certifided English teacher and have taught English online (over 800 hours) and in a school in Vietnam. I have also taught German to many online students (around 100 hours). Even though I was born in Denmark, my Danish isn't as good as I want it to be! 😅 it has become a life-long (albeit very slow!) mission to speak fluent Danish one day and I want to reach HSK2 Mandarin in 2024/25 as well :)
