Activities i am interested in:
Travelling to the UK solo.
My next destination:
Newquay, United Kingdom - from May 2025 View allDescription
Born and raised in the Zimbabwean bush, where I spent the last four years working with an Anti Poaching Unit, tackling wildlife trafficking syndicates, working with the local community in projects such as human wildlife conflict mitigation and education/outreach programs as well as big (and small) game immobilization, relocation and treatment.
I was fortunate to work in the tourism industry in South Africa for many happy years as well, where I learned different roles such as surf coach, barman, photography/videography as well as guest relations, activities and general maintenance.
During this time I met people from all over the world, learned about different cultures and how to make people feel relaxed, comfortable and safe in a variety of situations.
I am hoping this experience will benefit whichever host I get to work with on my travels.Interests

More details about your skills
Growing up in the bush and on farms I have a good amount of general experience with off grid living, problem solving, working with domestic and wild animals, maintenance and good old fashioned hard work.
I have been leading a team in the field for some years but I also like to follow instructions and get my hands dirty.
I am generally handy and a fast learner. Well acquainted with a shovel and wheelbarrow, I love plants, animals, sun and nature ! I am also computer literate and have quite a bit of I.T experience, enabling me to perform tasks and solve problems efficiently so as to avoid too much time behind a screen.
I have years of experience in general tourism work mainly surf coaching (SSA Qualified coach), bartending, guest relations, front of house, general maintenance, retail (surf shops mainly), photography and videography as well as safely driving guests around etc.
I don't claim to be an expert in any particular field but I am good at taking initiative and working on my own but also enjoy the simplicity of following instructions and cracking on with it.Age
38
What else ...
I love the outdoors, surfing, mountain biking, hiking and anything that gets me outside and active.
I am a pretty sociable guy, I enjoy meeting new people, sharing stories and ideas.
But I am also happy with a good book and cup of decent tea.
I studied photography when I was younger in Stellenbosch and am formally qualified and have many years in the industry, it is still one of my biggest hobbies.
Other than that, like most Zimbabweans I have a big sense of humour (a must in these parts), a can do attitude, a love for animals and nature as well as our trademark ability to always "make a plan".Some more information
