Description
After my second season of Kayak Guiding off the coast of British Columbia, I'm returning to Ireland! I've been split between working with kids in Outdoor Education and as a Speech Therapy Assistant. As a Waldorf graduate, nature and nurturing is at the heart of everything I do. After studying Applied Linguistics with a minor in Germanic Studies I taught English in Spain in 2022. Being back on Vancouver Island since then has given me the opportunity to reconnect with nature, in the form of kayak guiding, surfing, snorkeling and climbing. I've also briefly lived on a permaculture farm in Costa Rica, and which inspired me to live on farms on Salt Spring Island and Ireland in 2022. I’ve been dying to get my hands back in the dirt ever since.

I have a degree in Applied Linguistics, with a TESL certificate. I went through 12 years of Waldorf education and have worked on biodynamic and permaculture farms. I’m all about organic farming, beautiful environments, working with children and being in nature as much as possible.

Having Sophia with us was great! She's very nice person, clam and generous and our two kids adored her. She integrated very quickly within the family and other volunteers and embrace the Sligo life. The month I spent at the farm was not long enough! Paola and and Andrew were the most fantastic hosts; very attentive and kind and accommodating. It was so wonderful to eat fresh food from the polytunnels every day. The highlight of my stay were the sweet kiddos, whom I'm already missing terribly.
