Description
Welcome to a hidden gem in the heart of the Lovech region, near Troyan, Bulgaria!
We are a UK family that brought back an abandoned farm/mountain house back to life. However, life got int he way and we need help and in return a haven for anyone looking to opt out for a while. The area is spliut over three spearate rpoperties side by side. The old mountain house with attached barn, a newly built three roomed cabin, a small adjacent house with annex and a kennel area. Also on the property is a meadow for animals and one day we hope to have horses. Around 100metres away in the forest is a fresh water spring for water.
We have an outdoor and indoor toilet, an indoor shower. Cooking is primarily by gas rings electric stove and bbq facilities in the summer.
We have a beautiful rooftop veranda on the main house where you can enjoy a drink, meal and enjoy the mountain views.
You can walk the local path right to the doorstep of the national forest - there are wild boar and bears nearby so you have to be sensible.
Our off-grid mountain house, located on the border of a national forest, spans over an acre of serene land, featuring a flourishing vineyard, and breathtaking views of Botev Peak. Currently, we rely on rainwater collection for our water needs, making our pursuit of sustainability even more crucial.
We are seeking enthusiastic Workaway volunteers to help us develop this property into a sustainable retreat. With two properties available, there's already a basic kennel facility for animals so volunteers can bring pets, adding to the charm of our secluded haven. The land is also part of the forest and we want to develop it into a vegetable garden and natural swimming pond.
Our location is truly remote, situated 2 km from the nearest main road, offering peace and quiet amidst nature. You can enjoy a leisurely 3 km walk to the local shop, and take a dip in the nearby river on hot summer days. This is the perfect opportunity for those who wish to connect with nature and contribute to an eco-friendly project.
In return for your hard work, we provide comfortable accommodation, delicious home-cooked meals featuring local ingredients, and an amazing chance to immerse yourself in the culture and beauty of rural Bulgaria. Join us as we embark on this exciting journey to create a sustainable mountain retreat where nature and community thrive!
