Description

Hello! I’m Stef, and I’m traveling/ working with my 4.5-year-old son. We’ll be working and exploring together, and we’re excited about the opportunity to volunteer and connect with communities/ families/ independently along the way.

I am keen to expore Scotland this year mainly over school holidays Easter and Summer Holidays. I am planning to relocate us there so will be travelling up frequently this year 2025 and would love to tie this in with a home/ farm/ pet sitting opportunity to help us to connect, grow and explore along the way.

Before having my son, I was actively involved in the WWOOF Network, HelpX, and various volunteering opportunities across the UK, Europe, and South America. I have over 20 years of experience as a qualified nurse, and in between nursing posts, I’ve always focused on developing my knowledge in horticulture, organic vegetable gardening, community living, and self-development. I’m also trained in holistic therapies.

I have years of experience working with horses, including natural horsemanship, equine psychotherapy, and as a ride leader with teenagers with neurodiversity. Since becoming a mum, I’ve created my own no-dig allotment and have expanded into growing no-dig cut flowers. More recently, I’ve started growing and harvesting different varieties of willow for basketry.

I’m also passionate about herbal medicine and have studied medicinal plants and their uses. I’m an enthusiastic forager and enjoy learning about the natural world around me.

Currently, I work on a llama trekking farm, where my son joins me in helping out. We’re both fit and healthy, keen on healthy eating, I have a daily breathwork/ Yoga practise and I don’t smoke or drink.

I love to spend time in nature observing the changes in the seasons. My son is very outdoorsy he absolutely loves to play outside with sticks and natural materials.
