Hi there! I’m Matthew from South Africa. I’ve finished school last year and am taking a gap year to travel, learn new skills, and contribute wherever I can. I love the outdoors and being in nature is where I feel most at home. I can get along with anyone and I enjoy meeting new people and getting to know them.

I grew up in Cape Town and have lived here my whole life. I have been on countless hikes and adventures in my country with friends and family which has made me want to explore the rest of the world and go on new and exciting adventures in other countries. I hold a Polish passport which allows me to enter many different countries in Europe.

I recently finished working on an alpine farm in Switzerland and now I am doing another workaway in northern Norway and looking for any opportunities for future adventures. I am physically very fit as I have been an active rock climber for over 3 years and enjoy a variety of other sports such as mountain biking, tennis and running.

I work hard and can learn how to do things very fast. I am excited to use my skills and knowledge to the best of my abilities to help where I can and grow as a person

I volunteered for one month, and it was an amazing experience. The staff and other volunteers were great, and the work was relaxed and straightforward. The tasks varied, from showing guests to their rooms and collecting laundry from the different buildings to helping out with other jobs when needed.
