  • Description

Hi! We are Morgane and Pierre, a French couple traveling together on a Working Holiday Visa in New Zealand. We’ve been together for 7 years and are excited to live this adventure.

🙋🏻‍♂️Pierre is from "Pays de Gex" in the French Alpes, next to Geneva, Switzerland !
🙋🏻‍♀️ Morgane is from South West of France next to Bordeaux, the city of wine !

Starting at the end of September 2025, we will be travelling around New Zealand 🇳🇿 Why New Zealand? Is was a dream to come and discover the variety of this country. So, this year abroad is a big adventure for us before settling down in France.

We both enjoy meeting people, working as a team, discovering new lifestyles and being close to nature. This trip is our way of living something unique as a couple, gaining new perspectives, and growing before starting a new chapter back home.

🙋🏻‍♀️ Morgane has a Master’s degree in Graphic Design and Web Development. After two years of experience in design, she joined the French National Police as a web designer – one of the most enriching chapters of her career. Later, she decided to return to another passion: food and hospitality. Having worked as a waitress during her student years to support her studies, she chose to go back to this field a year and a half ago. This allowed her to reconnect with a job she already knew well and truly enjoyed, developing strong skills in service, customer care and teamwork. With her creativity, adaptability and positive energy, she enjoys learning and contributing in many different environments.

🙋🏻‍♂️Pierre is passionate about cooking and traditional French techniques. He began culinary studies at just 14 and since then has gained extensive experience in gastronomy. He has worked in Michelin-level restaurants in France, in prestigious hotel chains in Switzerland, and became co-chef in Lacanau (Southwest France), where he co-created full menus from starters to desserts. Later, he stepped into the role of Head Chef in Switzerland, leading a kitchen and developing his expertise even further. His passion for food, precision and creativity make him highly motivated to share and keep learning through new experiences.

✨ One of our biggest passions as a couple is food and discovering new flavors. Pierre is more into savory cuisine, while Morgane has a sweet tooth and loves pastries and desserts – which makes us a perfect balance at the table! We also love going on hikes together and enjoying the calm and beauty of mountain landscapes.

Pierre is very passionate about woodworking and admires traditional carpentry. Whenever he has free time, he enjoys designing and building projects, from drawing the plans to bringing them to life. In the past two years, he has also reconnected with another passion: cycling. Whenever the weather allows it, he enjoys mountain biking, especially in challenging and beautiful landscapes.

Morgane, on the other hand, is more into creative and artistic hobbies such as reading, digital illustration, and watercolor painting.

We are enthusiastic and motivated to contribute in a positive way, to help with different tasks, learn new skills, and share nice moments with our hosts. For us, this journey is not only about traveling, but also about connecting with people ! 🫶🏻

  • What else ...

We are both very close to our families, and whenever we have free time, we try to spend as much of it as possible with them. We are aware that time is precious, and this is also one of the reasons why we wanted to take this gap year in New Zealand before settling down in France – to live fully, grow together, and then come back ready to start the next chapter of our lives surrounded by family.

As a couple, we also love sharing and teaching each other new things. Pierre grew up in the mountains and has always skied, while for Morgane it was something completely new before we met. With patience and good humor, Pierre teaches Morgane how to ski whenever we have the chance !
