Description
Hi! My name is Milan and I live in a city just across the border from the Netherlands. I’m a very active person: I play football and I hold a first-degree black belt in karate. Besides sports, I really value spending time with my parents, my sister, and especially my girlfriend.
I’m currently taking a gap year before starting my law studies in Nijmegen. During this year, I want to learn new skills, experience different cultures, meet new people, and explore nature and life beyond the usual tourist paths.
I already have experience with this type of travel. Together with my girlfriend, I worked on a farm through WWOOF, and I have also stayed at several places in Germany via Workaway. I really enjoyed these experiences, as they taught me a lot about working together, adapting to new environments, and living in different cultures.
As a person, I’m generally calm and not someone who immediately talks a lot, but once I feel comfortable and get the chance to open up, I can become very enthusiastic and talkative. I’m open-minded, motivated, and always curious to learn something new. I’m really looking forward to meeting new people, sharing experiences, and contributing wherever I can.
Kind regards,
Milan
Hope to see you soon!

I was born in the Netherlands and raised in Germany, with a Persian father. My mother tongue is Dutch, and at an early age I also learned Farsi. Although I do not speak it as frequently as my other languages and my proficiency has faded somewhat, I still have a really good understanding of it. I acquired German naturally by living in Germany and participating in sports, which allowed me to learn the language quickly in a practical, everyday setting.

More details about your skills
I am currently taking a gap year and working at a restaurant in my hometown, where I serve food and prepare drinks behind the bar. Through this job, I have developed strong customer service skills and learned how to work effectively in a team. I am used to working in fast-paced environments, which has helped me become stress-resistant, flexible, and good at managing my time.
In addition to my work in hospitality, I regularly help my dad with building and renovation projects in and around the house. This has made me quite handy and given me practical experience with tools, technical insight, and manual labor. I am comfortable taking responsibility, working independently, and solving practical problems.
I also have experience working on farms, where I learned the importance of hard work, reliability, and adaptability. Overall, I consider myself a motivated, hard-working, and eager-to-learn person who is not afraid of physical work and new challenges.
