I'm staying in Milan from July to September. I spend my free time exploring galleries and museums, reading in the park, watching old star trek episodes, and eating. If that sounds fun, let's hang out!
My next destination:

Hello everyone!
I'm Michael. I hope we get the chance to know each other! Here's some info about me.
=== My skills and contributions ===
In my life I have had many hats! For many years I worked as an educator. For a time I was a teacher in secondary school (age 12-18). I also worked as an early learning teacher/carer (0-5 years) and with primary age children (5 - 12 years) in after-school programs, holiday care, and classroom assistance.
So as you can see, when it comes to teaching and working with children, I have done it all! I absolutely love working with children, encouraging their curiosity and creativity. Mainly, I have taught history, computer skills (including code) and some English and mathematics. I am happy to teach any of these things for a host family!
On another note, I am a huge fan of animals of all kinds. I have looked after plenty of dogs and cats and I can easily help with this.
I can drive, though I won't come with a car.
I also have a little experience gardening, and of course I am happy to clean and cook my fair share.
=== My background ===
I am Australian. I grew up in the beautiful forest island of Tasmania. I have lived and traveled many places - most recently I have been living in Montreal, perhaps my favorite city in the world. Most of my life I have been a city dweller. but I grew up in the bush and I love the countryside.
Today, I am working as a freelance game designer and developer. This is a new chapter for me, so I am still learning and making connections!
=== What it's like to have me around ===
Of course, my first priority is to fit into the culture and energy of the host. Here is a little about me to help understand if it's a good fit!
I am a social person for sure - I don't love a huge crowd, but I like to talk and spend some nice time with people most days - I'm not one of those people who can be alone for days and feel totally happy!
In my daily life I read and write a lot. I also love games, and exploring on foot or bike or car.
Right now, I am working to improve my skills and establish myself as a game designer. So, I will like to spend at few hours a day working. This mainly involves me sitting at a desk with paper or a laptop. Sometimes I also test things - if you are a fan of games, we could do it together!
Also, I am vegetarian. It's completely okay for me being in a home where people eat meat, but I don't eat any meat. I am totally okay to eat cheese + eggs though!Interests
