Buenos dias amigos!
We are two friends that just finished their studies and are now taking the opportunity to explore central and south america together.
I'm Michael, 25 years old and from Germany. I've been living the last 3 years abroad for my studies and really enjoy getting to know different cultures and languages. The last two years, I've been working in a climbing gym as a front of the house, dealing with check-ins, food and beverages. I do have hobby level carpentry and photography experience but are open to all kinds of work, preferably somewhere outside though :)
My name is Duarte Rodrigues. I’m from Portugal, 24 years old and recently finished my Masters in Neuroscience. For the last year, I worked in hospitality - mainly behind the bar - while I was studying in Amsterdam.Even though I don’t have maintenance or gardening experience, it is something I would love to try and enjoy it.
For both of us, volunteering is a substantial part of traveling since it allows you to engage with locals, exchange skills and experiences and slow down your travels. At the end, you often find yourself looking back at exactly those places and the people you met there, instead of just the next tourist attraction.

As mentioned above, I'm fully aware of the fact that one major part of volunteering is to work. Below, I'll mention some areas where I have some experience but I'm fully open to do something different, if that works for both sides :)
- In my freetime, I enjoy doing some wood working projects, which is why I'm familiar with most tools - I would really like to help building or maintaining something.
- Also, I'm experienced in working with customers in business and hospitality thanks to internships and former jobs.
- I also like photography and am quite familiar with lightroom, so I can definitely provide you with some pictures but I'm not a professional.
- I would consider my cooking skills as decent but nothing crazy.
