Kia Ora,

We are a long term couple who left New Zealand in 2022 to experience the world and learn about different cultures and ways of living.

Until recently, we were living in a van full time while exploring Europe.

Somos um casal de longa data que deixou a Nova Zelândia em 2022 para conhecer o mundo e aprender sobre diferentes culturas e modos de vida.

Morávamos em uma van em tempo integral enquanto explorávamos a Europa e, nos últimos 8 meses, temos viajado mochilando pela América do Sul.

Faltam 2 meses para retornarmos à Nova Zelândia e estamos em busca de mais experiências incríveis para compartilhar com outras pessoas.

We are very interested in learning your language. We are currently trying to learn Spanish! We speak English fluently and also know basics of te reo Māori which is the indigenous language of New Zealand. We are both Māori and grew up with the culture.

A little bit about ourselves:
I (Jaf) am a quailified builder by trade and have worked in the industry for 10+ years.
My most recent role (before travel) was a project manager for a civil engineering company. I’m very active and know my way around tools and machinery.
In my spare time I like to go on hikes, Dirtbike riding, travelling and spending time with family.

Mere is a great planner and is very organised. She has a University degree in Management (Marketing/Accounting) and has worked for New Zealand’s largest retailer, Farmers, in multiple marketing and digital content roles. With this said, she loves to be outdoors and would like to gain new skills and be involved in projects which are more hands on. She also has a TEFL certificate (but has not put it to use yet) & loves children. Her hobbies include hiking, sewing, travelling and cooking.

While on our travels, we have worked a range of different jobs including festival work, working in a pizza truck, bar work and renovation/restoration work.

Um pouco sobre nós:
Eu (Jaf) sou um construtor qualificado de profissão e trabalho no setor há mais de 10 anos.
Minha função mais recente (antes de viajar) foi como gerente de projetos em uma empresa de engenharia civil. Sou muito ativo e conheço bem ferramentas e máquinas.
No meu tempo livre, gosto de fazer trilhas, andar de motocross, viajar e passar tempo com a família.

Mere é uma ótima planejadora e muito organizada. Ela é formada em Administração (Marketing/Contabilidade) e trabalhou para a maior varejista da Nova Zelândia, a Farmers, em diversas funções de marketing e conteúdo digital. Dito isso, ela adora atividades ao ar livre e gostaria de adquirir novas habilidades e se envolver em projetos mais práticos. Ela também possui um certificado TEFL (mas ainda não o utilizou) e adora crianças. Seus hobbies incluem caminhadas, costura, viagens e culinária.

Durante nossas viagens, trabalhamos em diversos empregos, incluindo trabalho em festivais, em um caminhão de pizza, em bares e em trabalhos de renovação/restauração.

What else ...

We are very positive and outgoing people who love to meet locals, learn about different cultures, alternative ways of living and of course trying local cuisine.

We aren't looking for a specific project/job nor does it have to be directly related to our current skill sets. In fact we would prefer something different in order to learn new skills and to challenge ourselves!

We would appreciate an arrangement with accommodation included and some food (1 or 2 meals a day).

With this said, we understand that this might not be a suitable arrangement for everyone and are happy to discuss this. We are also more than capable of cooking the meals ourselves or for everyone (Mere enjoys cooking).

We want to create great memories with you!! Giving back to the communities we are travelling in while sharing beautiful and fun moments together is ultimately what we want from our experiences.

Somos pessoas muito positivas e extrovertidas que adoram conhecer os moradores locais, aprender sobre diferentes culturas, estilos de vida alternativos e, claro, experimentar a culinária local.

Não estamos procurando um projeto/emprego específico, nem precisa estar diretamente relacionado às nossas habilidades atuais. Na verdade, preferimos algo diferente para aprender novas habilidades e nos desafiar!

Agradeceríamos um acordo com acomodação e alimentação inclusas (1 ou 2 refeições por dia).

Dito isso, entendemos que este pode não ser um acordo adequado para todos e estamos felizes em discutir isso. Também somos mais do que capazes de cozinhar as refeições nós mesmos ou para todos (Mere gosta de cozinhar).
