Hi, I'm Max. I'm a recent graduate of the School of Visual Arts in NYC, and I've been living in the New York-Metro area for my whole life. While at school, I didn't have many chances to travel, so now that I'm no longer a student, I'm hoping to take advantage of my newfound freedom by cracking open my comfort zone and expanding my horizons through travel and cultural exchange. I majored in Illustration at school, so it might not surprise you that I'm making stuff all the time. My practice goes wherever I go, and I can't wait to see how my new surroundings will influence my work and my outlook on the world.

More details about your skills
I work a lot with my hands—I spend most of my time making sculptures out of found objects and materials. Necessity drives my acquisition of new skills, meaning that if I encounter a material I want to use, I will figure out how to work with it in any way that I can. Thus I've become very experienced with X-acto knives, and when I've had to get through thicker/heavier materials like wood and metal, have acquainted myself with hammers, drills, Dremel tools, and even the occasional bandsaw.
Because of my art practice, I have some rudimentary construction/fabrication skills, and I would love to add to my repertoire. I’d be happy to learn on the job in the context of construction for practical purposes—I am an eager pupil and have natural spatial intelligence.
I’ve also worked as a professional mover, so I know how to safely lift, carry, transport, and store heavy, fragile, and/or valuable objects.
My last job was in food service—specifically as a barista in a small cafe. I learned how to make sandwiches and espresso drinks, steam milk, and maintain a safe and sanitary work environment.
I have some musical skills, mostly in the disciplines of guitar and voice. I also sometimes noodle with the ukulele and the piano.Age
