Description

Hi there,

My name Mattias, a fun loving, easy going traveller originally from Sweden. Although, it's now been more then 20 years since I actually lived in my native country.

Through the years since I left Sweden, I've been hitchhiking roads and walking hiking trails through 40 countries. I have lived/worked/volunteered in at least half of those and been given a huge amount of memories and experiences.

I love exploring new countries and places, learn about cultures, music, food and traditions.

Even if I am new to work away, it's not my first time using this platform. I have been a volunteer (found opportunities in other ways then here)in many countries and also coordinated volunteers on a big farm in Turkey through this platform and other similar platforms.

I am open for any kind of experience on this platform, would love to come and share my skills, learn new ones, regardless if it is on a farm, camping, hostel, lodge on the mountain, with the years of travelling I have learnt to adjust to most situations and places.

Skills that i have and of which I am really confident and experienced to work with:

- Hospitality (hostels and restaurants)
- Carpentry
- Painting and decorating
- Working with Chainsaws and axes
- Various maintenance jobs
- Cooking/bartending (worked in restaurants for 12 years)
- Farm work (experience from organic farms and animal farms)
- Production work for festivals and managing stages for bands

I do also have some experience working with plumbing, plastering, electricity and driving Farm machinery.

Been nicknamed "MacGyver" through some of the jobs at have had due to my ability to fix things in some very creative ways.

I love the outdoors, wild camping and doing long distance hikes.

The longest hike so far is 1700km on foot, have a few more over hikes 1000km in recent years.

Love plants, especially tropical plants.

I love to cook for people and make people happy with food.
