Description
Hi!
We are Maryline and Kathleen, two friends traveling together, with different personalities but a shared love for connection, nature, and meaningful experiences.
Maryline brings a more spontaneous and lively energy. She loves sharing, laughing, creating moments, and connecting easily with people. What makes her happy is the simple joy of being together, feeling free, and enjoying the present moment.
Kathleen feels deeply connected to nature and calm environments. Taking time to slow down, observe, and feel is really important to her. She has an intuitive and reflective way of experiencing things, with a strong sensitivity to energy and surroundings.
Together, we really value human connection. We love meeting new people, exchanging stories, and learning from different perspectives. We believe every encounter teaches us something and helps us grow.
Traveling is a big part of our journey. It allows us to step out of our comfort zone, discover new cultures, and see life in a different way. Music is also something that connects us — to our emotions, to each other, and to the moment.
We are both curious, open-minded, and willing to learn. We always try to bring a positive, respectful, and genuine energy wherever we go.
For us, this experience is more than just volunteering — it’s about sharing, connecting, and being part of something meaningful together. -

More details about your skills
We are two social workers from France, and our work is to support people in their daily lives, such as managing budgets, housing, and overall well-being. We have strong communication skills, we are good listeners, and we naturally create a safe and trusting environment for others. We are adaptable, responsible, and comfortable working with people from different backgrounds. Together, we combine emotional sensitivity and positive energy, which helps us connect easily with others and be helpful in many different situations.
Through our travels, we have learned to be open-minded and adaptable. Being in different countries has made us more independent and comfortable in unfamiliar environments. We have learned how to communicate even when there are language barriers, how to stay calm when things do not go as planned, and how to find simple and practical solutions. These experiences have made us more confident, resourceful, and able to connect easily with others.
We also make an effort to learn a few words of the local language, such as Indonesian, to better connect with people. Even if we are still beginners, we enjoy trying because it helps create simple and genuine human connections.
We spent almost three weeks on Koh Rong island in Cambodia in March, doing volunteer work in a bar with nearby accommodation. It was a very immersive experience where we lived close to the rhythm of the island: simple, intense, and very human.
We helped with bar service, welcoming guests, doing hotel check-ins and check-outs for the related accommodation, and also organizing games with customers. This created a friendly and lively atmosphere and allowed us to connect with people from many different countries.
What we remember most is how much we had to adapt. There were people from all over the world, language barriers, and many unexpected situations. We learned to stay flexible, communicate better, and work well together as a team.
This experience helped us become more confident with people, more independent, and more comfortable in new situations. It also reinforced our motivation to continue volunteering and learning through similar experiences. -
