Description
Hi, i'm Martha
My home is New Zealand, but at the moment i'm staying in a monastery near Zaragoza for a month after having finished my studies in Copenhagen for the last semester of my Philosophy/Sociology degree.
I love what i'm studying, and I also love talking with other people about how they see the world and what keeps them going.
I'm planning on starting my masters at some stage next year but wanted to take a break to switch modes for a while to get a bit of perspective.
I'm hoping to find somewhere on Workaway that has solid routine going on and a peaceful day to day momentum with time to chat and connect too.
I love music and art, as well as words and reading and writing, and also am quite fond of bouldering and even a bit of a party every now and then.
What i'd really like to focus on in this next part of the year is learning to cut back and live a more simple and focused life with fewer distractions and less stimulation. -

More details about your skills
In terms of work experience, i've had many years in customer service roles, which i've really loved because I love talking to strangers and making small connections. In those roles i've also learned lots of the basic stuff like maintaining a clean and tidy environment, cash handling, collaborating with other team members and maintaining good service under a bit of pressure.
For most of last year I was working as an assistant for a small business specialising in linemarking and asphalting. We also did many other small jobs related mainly to carparks like tree trimming, gardening and small repair jobs. During this time I also learned how to cut aluminium stencils with power tools and how to use a plastic welder.
At the moment, I am working at a music venue where I am serving drinks and cleaning up after raves and concerts.
Other than that, I can play the guitar, write a pretty good essay, climb up a wall, hold a decent conversation, and do a cartwheel. -

The building itself is really crazy and very cool. Endless twists and turns and surprises to be found. Coming from New Zealand, where there is not such a long and preserved history, this was really quite something for me to see.
