Hi, I'm Marnie.

I was born and raised in Wellington, New Zealand, and hold dual citizenship with Austria. In February 2025, I’ll be moving to Europe (hopefully permanently!) and taking a couple of years off from office work to develop new skills I’ve always wanted to learn but never had the chance to pursue professionally.

In New Zealand, I worked as a transport planner in the maritime sector before moving into IT as a business analyst in the rail industry. I am a big nerd for all things related to logistics and transport planning.

I'm particularly interested in nature and architecture. I'm looking to gain skills in building, renovation, gardening and landscaping, horticulture, and work on conservation/ecological projects :)

My absolute dream would be to one day work as a builder for an organisation restoring historical buildings. I especially love whimsical architecture. The buildings of Hundertwasser and local New Zealand modernist architects have had a big impact on me growing up. I am also particularly interested in natural and traditional housebuilding methods.

In my free time, I have a lot of different hobbies! I love dancing, circus arts, electronic music, gardening and spending time outdoors hiking. I do samba dancing, ballet, hula hoop, aerial hoop, and fire spinning. I also played the timbal in a Brazilian samba band in New Zealand and play the handpan.
