Hi there!! My name is Marleen and I just graduated high school here in Germany in June 2025. Now I want to travel to all kinds of places while meeting new people, learning new skills and experiencing the world beyond my cozy hometown. I am a curious person and always down for some crazy projects or spontaneous ideas. But I also enjoy having time for myself every now and then because as much as I love being active I also like reading books and writing about my recent adventures in my diary. I can easily adapt to new places and routines and like to travel light, not just with luggage, but also when it comes to comfort – I don’t mind keeping it simple. I can find joy in a lot of things – whether it's the small daily habits or really breathtaking moments. Here is a list of only a few things that I love and that make me feel alive:

My first volunteering experience was on a farm as a student where I helped taking care of all sorts of animals, such as pigs, cows, goats, sheep, chickens and donkeys. I really enjoyed working outside and this experience also thaught me to appreciate how valuable it is to build connections — not just with other people, but also with animals.

Besides that I have some experience tutoring younger students to improve their language skills. So if you or your kids are interested in learning some German I am happy to help out with that too. As I have a huge passion for languages in general I would also love to learn some basics in your mother tongue!

Apart from that I am open for a pretty wide range of voluntary work. Whether it's animal care or child care, working in a hostel or helping with cleaning and cooking or supporting creative projects. One of the main reasons I signed up on workaway was to learn new skills therefore I am not hesitant to learn something new from you and help whereever I am needed.

This is my purpose of travelling: I want to leave my comfort zone, try new things, learn about different lifestyles, meet new people, dive into other cultures, pick up some new language skills, discover magical places or exchange my knowledge and experiences with friends all over the world.
