Hello,

We are Marine, a 25-year-old girl and Matis a 26-year-old boy, really in love with each other and who are both passionate about nature, animals and traveling. We just want to see the world for ourselves, but not in the classic way (take a plane and go to a big city, stay in a hotel, etc...). We want to see every part of a country and that includes experiencing the local life and the rural life as well.

I was working as an English teacher for middle schoolers, but I decided to take a break from becoming a teacher full time and passing the big scary test, and go away for one year. Matis didn't get his thesis this year, and instead of waiting a whole year to apply for it, he decided to travel a bit. That is how we ended up taking the whole year off and packing our things to go out of our routine and see the world. We plan on visiting multiple countries such as Turkey, Georgia, Kazakhstan (in November), China ( in December), Vietnam (in January), Thailand (in February), Indonesia, and Laos (from February to April), but we will see where the journey takes us. We are backpacking, so this gives us a lot of freedom, and as I said, we don't have a plan in advance.

We are both living together in the mountains in France, in a lovely city called Grenoble.

We are really curious and sociable people who are willing to learn and help. We would love to join your family and help you with your daily life.
We both really enjoy climbing, running outdoors, and any sport that involves exploring nature or mountains (skiing, hiking, canyoning ...). We are fit and able to help with whatever outdoor or indoor tasks you can think of. We don't have specific skills, but we really love to learn and explore along the way.

Moreover, we are independent, and we know how to cook, clean, and genuinely take care of ourselves and of our place (since we have our own apartment). We are also vegetarians and care deeply about the animals and their well-being. If that is a diet or a lifestyle you can't really adapt too, then we may not be a match.

To sum up, we are two very sociable, self-sufficient, and kind people who love to meet others and experience new things. We are open-minded and ready to learn and share skills with you.

Hey workawayers !

I stayed about 3 weeks in Piret's and Tenno's home and I can happily say I enjoyed every second of it. They made me feel at home since the vert first day, with their daily family breakfast (best porridges are served there).
The work in itself is really enjoyable since Piret always makes sure that it suits your preferences and … read more skills. I did a bunch of different tasks like cleaning the horses poo in the fields, putting up a floor upstairs, painting doors, leveling the backyard, and even pushing a bale of hay for 200 meters (I had help for this one). All of it was most of the time not even hardwork to me because Piret is the kindest and most understanding person and she allows you to take as many breaks as you need and enjoy some free time every day. Their home is deep in the countryside of Estonia, and all you can see around is trees and high grass, however you can easily catch a free bus that will lead you to Tartu, from where you can catch other trains and buses to go explore Estonia. Tenno and Piret made this trip the best I could have ever imagined and made a lot of memorable experiences possible such as trying a sauna (unfortunately not their own sauna which is a traditional one), going to the Võnge festival and some other concerts in Tartu, taking a 3 days trip in Tallin, and of course exploring the countryside while swimming in some beautiful lakes. I will never thank you enough guys for making it all possible, it was like a dream come true.
What can I add ? Your days at the farm will be highlight by the presence of Iko, their 1,5 child and the most adorable and funny little human I have ever met. Of course if you like animals, this place is a paradise because there is 4 beautiful and friendly horses with whom Piret's does amazing trainings (if you are interested in that she will love to show you) and Taavi, the most friendly cat I've met. He will ask for your attention and petting 24/7... be ready !

In other words, this is a place in heaven if you like exploring, being outside, animals and having the company of the little Iko. You will also enjoy Piret's amazing meals (she is a true chef) and the incredible evenings with Tenno spent playing cards and testing Estonian crafts beers and ciders.

I hope I convinced you to get there for your next workaway, you won't regret it. I truly hope I can visite them again, it was an unexpected but incredible experience.
