Hi!
My name is Maria and I'm a professional illustrator who works as a hotel receptionist.
I love telling stories through my art and I hope I can build new stories as I work away.
I've lived in Japan with a Working Holiday visa for a year. Even though my dream was to work in a sento, I mostly worked in the guest-house/ryokan industry and also occasionally serving drinks at the local karaoke bar!
Maybe in the future I will be a nun, but before that I would like to enjoy the small things that bring me joy like fishing, singing in karaoke or soaking with the grandmas in the local sento. I'm a very open minded woman ready to learn and work hard!

I'm very good at:
·Cooking and baking (after living 4 months in two monasteries I mastered any type of bread!)
·Fixing things (not cars, sorry)
·Creative skills (drawing, painting, animating, writing, sewing, knitting...)
·Bartending: from making the fluffiest capuccino to serving drinks all night with my hometown's Party Comittee, the drink of your choice will be ready with a smile!
·Methodically cleaning and tidying up
·Eating sweets!

I'm good at illustrating (drawing), cleaning (I have experience on cleaning hotels, hostels, schools, social centers and my own place heheh), folding clothes, sewing by hand and by machine, also hand basic knitting, cooking, ironing, taking care of pets, and garden and farm envoirement. Also I really like building and debuilding stuff, not buildings but I'm a handywoman!

Maria was a good helper, very talented person with good will and could get along with anyone.

Maria stayed at the station for three weeks, she had a big impact on the place. She is one of the better cleaners I've had at the station, taking on the task with a real passion. I spent twoo weeks at Jam's station and it wasn't enough! The station and surroundings were covered in snow, but life inside and the beautiful relationships I was able to form while working there were more than heartwarming! I had a super great time , work wasn't hard and Ikeda-san and the rest of the staff are all lovely people! It's a super plus the fact that there is onsen in the hostel and the common areas and rooms are very cozy and japanese style. Beppu has a lot of interesting places to visit so I definitely recommend working here!
