Description
Hello, I’m Manou. I have a dream of studying in ETH Zürich once I graduate, but in order to have even the slightest chance of being atmitted, I need to pass a C1 exam of German. I speak Dutch at home, am proficient at English, and have studied German to know at least the basic grammar, but I cannot help to think that it would certainly aid me to learn the language from interacting with native speakers, after all, a C1 exam also contains a speaking test, something that is quite hard to prepare for in my opinion. For this particular reason, I hope to find a hosting family in a german-speaking region. I could help with household shores, am not a picky eater and I love spending time with people (although sometimes I also need some time alone). My plan would be, if that is a possibility, to do voluntary work in the region were I would stay or perhaps some other form of work, because it would allow me to speak even more to all kinds of different people. I like hiking, doing sports (even if I’m really bad at them), nature, socialising, visiting places, reading, drawing and much more.
Here in Belgium, I often play piano, hang out with friends, do cardio every 2-3 days, play badminton (but now that it’s summer, our club has taken a break), and I go hiking a lot, since I live close to a small forest. My parents are divorced, my mother lives in a small village and my father lives in a city (Aalst). Even though I love nature, I also like cities, as they are always filled with many people and countless of things to discover. I mostly eat vegetarian with my mother, but I still eat meat, so I’m not fully vegeterian (I could go with anything, though :) ). I hope to stay somewhere this summer (2025) for about 3 weeks or something like that (what fits you the best). Thank you for reading this and I hope you’ll take my request in consideration! Let me know if you need any other information about me or my family!
Kind regards, ManouInterests
