Hi everybody! Mi name is Maddalena, I'm 28 and I come from a beautiful town in the north of Italy :) I studied Translation for English and Russian and I love learning new languages, so after uni I decided to see more of the world and experience living in a different country. I've been living in Vienna for over four years now, working in a wonderful hostel where I get to meet people from all over the world everyday, and as a barista in a cool new café!
Would love to keep travelling and finding new surprising places to learn new things and feel at home :)

I have a degree in Foreign Languges and Literatures and a master in Translation and Interpreting, so I'm very interested in languages and cultures and I'm quite used to learning new languages on my own and in creative ways :)

I've been working in a famous hostel in Vienna for over four years now, so I know a lot about managing guests from an international background, as well as the workings of a guest house, with its perks and challenges.
I've also worked as a babysitter for years and with kids of all ages; and been a workawayer with three beautiful families – in Sweden, Austria and Iceland– so I have a lot of experience in living with a family, spending time with kids and helping around with whatever is needed :)
I've always had a passion for arts and crafts and I'm quite good at manual skills, I am very passionate about photography, play a couple of instruments (or I try to) and I love everything having to do with music. Overall I am willing to learn anything and any skill you could teach me :)

What else ...

I am teaching myself photography and editing, and it's something I'm really passionate about. I'd love to meet other passionate people that can teach me more about it! I also play the piano at an intermediate level, I started to teach myself how to play the guitar during the pandemic and I've been singing in a choir for many years :)
I hope we can share many interests or to pick up new ones along the way!
