Description

My name is Marieclaire, 39 years old, from the Netherlands and currently close to Brindisi, Italy.

I am lucky enough that I had the opportunity to quit my job and travel. I've traveled five months through Mexico, three weeks in Nicaragua and four months in the Dominican Republic. After a short stop in the Netherlands I've packed my bags again and went back to Visoko, Bosnia to do volunteer work for a month. Digging tunnels, carrying back and forth buckets of sand and stones.
The season ended so I traveled to Croatia, where I've helped renovating a house and from there I took the bus to Ljubljana, Slovenia. There I've worked for five months in an office with the sweetest people, doing paperwork, cleaning, making coffee and being a driver.

In 2023 I bought a van (Mercedes Sprinter, middle sized), and I drove to Portugal. There I've worked for three weeks on a farm, renovating and gardening.

I have lot's of experience in the restaurant/café business. I've worked abroad and on small ships, as a flight attendant and dog walker.

I feel a deep love for the ocean, when I was younger we sailed and surfed a lot. Thanks to my family I can say I have experienced living remote in the forests of Sweden, it was magical....

Mandy and Charles are the sweetest people. Very relaxed and easy to talk to. Their house is amazing, the bedroom is comfortable, I slept so good! The work is easy, we've picked the olives and we even got to see where they are being processed into olive oil. Besides that I did some weeding aswell.

I've worked 3 weeks with Natasha and Jannick, on there beautiful peace of land. I really admire what they do, and it was a pleasure working with them.

Mladen is a very friendly man. Great communication and he did some special groceries for us, we asked for some more veggies and this was no problem at all. The work was nice, I sand papered (?) a part of the steps and cleaned the kitchen. A nice first work away experience!
