  • Description

    Hey beautiful people,
my name is Luisa, I'm 23 years old and just returned from an Erasmus Exchange in Sweden. Right now, I'm looking for opportunities to volunteer in Spain and France, meet amazing new people and do something outside of the academic field for a while. A little about me, I'm studying Environmental Sciences and I'm incredibly passionate about all the other beings that wander alongside us on eath. Nothing makes me feels as grounded and at home as being outdoores in nature does. Besides that, I also love making art and crafting, painting, drawing... I enjoy doing all that creates something. I don't have any workaway experience yet, but I volunteered for a year in an intercultural center in Italy.

As I said, I voluntereed in an intercultural centre in Italy for a year. There, I worked in the office and help with bookings, in the restaurant where I served the clients and was in charge of organizing the service every evening, I also worked at the bar where I especially enojoyed getting to know the clients a bit deeper, chatting with them and learning from their life stories. For three month, we hostet language classes and trips for cultural exchange for an Erasmus procet for young people from Germany, where my function was mediating between my host facility and the guests. Those were my main tasks, but I generally helped where ever it was necessary (e.g. in the garden, the kitchen). This experience taught me a lot about intercultural communication, learning a new language, adapting to different settings (e.g. different groups of people each week), self-organizing my tasks and working together with a variety of different people from different cultural back-grounds.
Besides this experience, growing up in a rural, agricultural part of Germany surroundet by fields, forrests and gardens, I've always helped out in garden work (we have an orchard and huge vegetable plot) and I'm happy to learn more about it.
For around 12 years, I rode horses at a local barn and later took care of a neighbour's 2 horses, so I'm used to stalbe work and really enjoy doing it. More than riding horses, I enjoyed being around them, feeling there presence and connecting with other-than-human beings
