  • Description

Hi! I’m Louis, a 23-year-old French guy from Lille, in the north of France. I’ve just finished my Master’s degree in Business and Retail Management, and I decided to take a break from my studies and work to experience something completely different: living, travelling and working in New Zealand during my Working Holiday Visa.
I’m a curious, open-minded and easy-going person. I really enjoy meeting new people, discovering different cultures and sharing experiences. I’m quite sociable and I usually adapt easily to new environments. I also like having a good laugh and enjoying simple moments with the people around me.
I’m particularly interested in travelling, nature, sports and discovering new places. I love hiking, exploring landscapes, going on road trips and generally being outdoors. I’m also a big fan of rugby and would love to discover the New Zealand rugby culture while I’m here!
I’m joining Workaway because I don’t want to experience New Zealand only as a tourist. I’d like to meet locals, understand more about the Kiwi way of life, help with useful projects and experience everyday life in a different environment. I’m not afraid of physical work and I’m happy to get my hands dirty and learn new things. I may not know how to do everything when I arrive, but I’m motivated, reliable and always willing to learn.
One of my main goals during this trip is also to improve my English. I’m comfortable communicating in English, but I want to become much more fluent and confident by actually using it every day.
I’ve already travelled quite a bit, but New Zealand is a completely new adventure for me. I’m especially excited about meeting people from all over the world, discovering the landscapes and wildlife, and creating some unforgettable memories along the way.
I’m looking forward to helping out, learning, meeting great people and making the most of this adventure!
    See u soon !

More details about my language interests
I’m mainly here to improve my English! I’d love to practise it every day, have conversations with locals and become more confident and fluent. In exchange, I’d be very happy to help you learn or practise French, whether you’re a beginner or already speak some French. I think the best way to learn a language is to simply talk, laugh, make mistakes and learn from each other. So if you help me with my English, I’ll happily help you with your French!

  • More details about your skills

I have a background in business, retail management and team leadership. I recently completed my Master’s degree in Management and spent the last few years working in retail, including as a Sales Manager at Darty in France, where I was responsible for a team and for the day-to-day running of part of the store.
Through this experience, I have developed strong teamwork, communication, organisation and problem-solving skills. I’m used to taking responsibility, working independently when needed and adapting quickly when things don’t go as planned. I’m also comfortable working with different kinds of people and helping wherever I’m needed.
I’m a hard worker and I’m not afraid of physical work. I’m used to being active throughout the day and I enjoy practical tasks where you can see the result of your work. I’m also happy to learn skills that I don’t already have whether it’s gardening, maintenance, farming, taking care of animals or helping around the house. I may be a beginner at some of these things, but I’m motivated, curious and learn quickly.
I’m also quite hands-on and resourceful in everyday life. I like figuring things out, finding solutions and getting things done rather than waiting for someone else to do them.
I speak French fluently, which is my native language, and I speak English at a good conversational level. One of my main goals in New Zealand is to improve my English by using it every day. I would also be very happy to help anyone who wants to learn or practise French!
I have a French driving licence and an International Driving Permit, so I’m also comfortable driving and getting around independently.
Most importantly, I’m reliable, positive and willing to help. I understand that every host has different needs, and I’m happy to follow instructions, learn new things and contribute wherever I can. Whether the job is helping outside, cleaning, carrying things, preparing meals, looking after a property or simply lending a hand with everyday tasks, I’ll always give it my best.
I’m coming to New Zealand to learn, help, meet people and experience a different way of life, so don’t hesitate to teach me something new!
