Description
I am currently in my third year of undergrad, where I am majoring in Biology under a Pre-Veterinary plan. In addition, I am completing minors in Writing, as well as Health, Humanities, & Society (HH&S).
I am currently seeking experiences involving agricultural animals. I aim to gain knowledge and skills on husbandry and medical care, whilst acquainting myself with farm life.
Involving myself in animal care and health is one of the times I feel most like myself, and I constantly crave fulfilling that passion. However, this capacity of mine for an intense passion shows up in many other places in my life; whether for the arts, or volunteering, or general learning. This desire for learning manifests itself in environments beyond typical academics. I value the opportunity to travel and devote time to unfamiliar places, and live in a way beyond the instinct of native NYC-er (and now part time Bostonian) me.
I have had the privilege of traveling internationally for a variety of experiences, including; carrying out my first semester of undergrad at the University of Glasgow, completing a Pre-Vet internship at a rescue center in the Puntarenas Province of Costa Rica, and a workaway in the mountains of Honduras.

Animal care:
-I currently work full time as a Veterinary Assistant, and take shifts at a low cost surgery clinic, predominantly treating cats and dogs under sedation. This past summer, I engaged in a pre-veterinary program at a rescue center abroad. During high school, I dedicated time to volunteering at my local doggy day care. In summer 2022, I volunteered an animal care intern and zookeeper shadow in South Africa.
Writing:
- I am currently pursuing a minor in writing. I have attended workshops in the genre of creative nonfiction, and I enjoy placing an artistic spin on my pieces. Additionally, I have experience in academic and scientific writing.
Manual:
-While I have limited knowledge in construction/farming, I am a quick learner and have the adequate strength/fitness for such labour-intenstive tasks.
Household:
- Though I have slightly more eccentric taste (polenta, tempeh, calamari), I am a capable cook.
Children:
-During my summers in High School, I served as a live-in counselor in training at a performing arts camp, working with a variety of ages. At my specialized arts High School, I volunteered in the audition admissions department.
I am not afraid to get dirty! Mud, dust...feces..I do not mind getting on my hands and knees for a task, no matter the surroundings.

What else ...
I would be interested in learning more about general farming (animal care and agriculture), Permaculture, and building techniques. I am also very appreciative of cooking, so would be happy to help out with that, and would love to familiarize myself beyond just the recipes I tend to repeat over and over!
I have a few years experience riding western, however I am certainly rusty (have not ridden consistently in over 6 years).
My favorite genre of music is classic rock and my favorite color is orange.
In my free time I am learning NoGi Jiu Jitsu, and currently working on starting a small business in jewelry/art.
