Hello!
My name is Lawrence. I'm an English teacher currently traveling around Thailand. Having been brought up in a bilingual family, I have always had a deep passion for languages and cultures. This path led me to traveling around the world exploring cultures and learning languages whilst also becoming a CELTA qualified English teacher.

Over the years I've lived in various countries, such as Australia, Indonesia, Germany, and Denmark. My time living and traveling abroad has taught me much about the importance of community, culture, nature and diversity. Furthermore, I had the opportunity to work on language revitilization and environmental initiatives during my time there, therefore learning more about and connecting with locals and travelers alike.

Workwise, having graduated in Development Studies, I've held a variety of positions over the years, my focus however being on English teaching. Besides teaching, I also enjoy doing handy work, be it in the garden, vegetable patch or at home.

Having lived in various settings, I'm very easygoing and adaptable, quite the minimalist, I lead a simple lifestyle. I would define myself as flexible, curious, polite, clean and sociable. For me being somewhere is all about learning about the local culture and connecting with people, goals which Workaway embodies, therefore it would be my pleasure to get to volunteer and help out with your project whilst also getting to know you and learning about your local culture and community!
