hiya, we are lawra and ryan, a couple from england
we are 31 and 32, passionate about creativity, travel and experiencing new things
in 2019 i lived in spain living and working on campsites all summer until my first workaway in the autumn/ winter. i initially went for a week, but ended upstaying for 3 months - it was a beautiful and life-changing experience and i loved being able to fully immerse myself somewhere new. we are currently looking for opportunities to meet new people, learn new skills and experience nature
i have 10 years of customer service experience and work as a theater technician, as well as a visual arts technician in a gallery. i have also worked as a painter and decorator, gardener and tefl tutor (with 168-hour qualification). i have built wooden decks for caravans and large-scale marquees for campsites, dug irrigation systems and built plinths and temporary walls for art galleries.
ryan has worked as a lecturer in universities for fine art students, as well as in charity shops and nursing homes. he makes a lot of music and is very handy with digital creativity- building websites, making flyers and marketing, video editing, sound stuff and more. we both love to paint, collage and build ♥
we met on a n art technician course in 2022 - we can perform general maintenance, install exhibitions and paint and refurbish. we have volunteered and worked at lots of festivals over the years as general crew/ maintenance, decor and art team, bar staff and stewards. we love music, art and theater. we are hoping to get involved in something creative and community-driven! we love flow and circus arts and anything related to this or helping with events, painting murals or gardening and farming would be our ideal workaway. i am studying a part-time online degree, so somewhere that offers quiet time and enjoys hosting digial nomads would be ideal for longer stays. i have a break from mid september to mid october, so we are hoping to find something fun for then, and again next year :-)
we dabble in lots of things, taking joy in the process rather than the end product. we are environmentally conscious, preferring to reuse, recycle and trade rather than to buy new things. we would love to learn about farming, permaculture and bioconstruction so that one day we can be self-sufficient. we are very hands on and not afraid to get stuck in with laborious projects.
please do get in contact if you have room for us and are interested by our profile :-)
