Viola
Hi, I’m Viola (28) currently travelling around Australia in my car with rooftop tent and making the most of my second Work & Holiday visa. Over the past months I’ve done all kinds of jobs — housekeeping, au pair work, hotel cleaning, fire-recovery jobs on a farm, and a longer stay on a herb farm where I helped with weeding, general maintenance, and day-to-day farm tasks. I’m definitely not afraid of getting my hands dirty or doing physical work.
Before coming to Australia, I also spent quite a bit of time in office and customer-service jobs. While studying media-related subjects in Germany, I worked in a supermarket and a call centre, swimming pool and later worked as a radio producer. I'm also a licensed badminton and windsurfing instructor. All these different roles taught me to adapt quickly, stay organised, and communicate well with people.
I’m an outdoorsy person who loves being active, exploring nature, and spending time by the ocean. I also enjoy reading, photography, and discovering new places along the way.

Hi, I’m Chris, 34 years old, and currently traveling through Europe in my self-converted van with my two dogs. After working for 17 years in an office as part of a development team, I decided to take a new direction and explore the world. On my journey, I’m not just looking to discover new places but, more importantly, to connect with locals, learn about different cultures, and improve my English.
In addition to my office work, I have also worked as a lifeguard for many years, which has taught me the importance of being active and working outdoors. Through converting my van, I’ve gained a lot of hands-on, practical skills, and I enjoy helping out with repairs, building, or any kind of manual work.
I’m excited to gain new experiences through Workaway, meet people from all over the world, and contribute to interesting projects. Whether it’s gardening, handiwork, or other tasks, I’m eager to learn and help wherever I can.

Hallo, ich bin Chris, 34 Jahre alt, und reise aktuell mit meinem selbst ausgebauten Van und meinen zwei Hunden durch Europa. Nach 17 Jahren Arbeit im Büro als Teil eines Entwicklungsteams habe ich mich entschieden, eine neue Richtung einzuschlagen und die Welt zu erkunden. Ich möchte auf meiner Reise nicht nur neue Orte entdecken, sondern vor allem den Kontakt zu Einheimischen suchen, um mehr über die verschiedenen Kulturen zu lernen und mein Englisch zu verbessern.
Neben meiner Büroarbeit habe ich lange Zeit als Schwimmmeister gearbeitet, was mir gezeigt hat, wie wichtig es ist, körperlich aktiv zu sein und im Freien zu arbeiten. Durch den Ausbau meines Vans habe ich zudem viele handwerkliche Fähigkeiten erworben, und ich packe gern mit an, wenn es etwas zu reparieren oder zu bauen gibt.
Ich freue mich darauf, durch Workaway viele neue Erfahrungen zu sammeln, mit Menschen aus der ganzen Welt in Kontakt zu kommen und aktiv bei spannenden Projekten mitzuhelfen. Egal, ob im Garten, beim Handwerken oder bei anderen Aufgaben – ich bin bereit, Neues zu lernen und zu helfen. Ich reise alleine und teile mir dieses Profil mit meiner Schwester.
