Hi, I’m Kathi, I’m 25 years old and I’ve just recently finished my studies. Before continuing with my academic career, I’d love to take some time off to explore the world again, gain new experiences, and try something completely different.

I’m a very open-minded, curious and positive person who truly enjoys meeting new people and connecting with different cultures. I’ve already lived in several cities and countries, which has helped me become adaptable and comfortable in new environments. I always appreciate the chance to learn from others and see the world from different perspectives.

Workaway is not new to me. Back in 2018, I spent six months helping out in a hostel in Nice, and it was an incredibly rewarding experience that taught me a lot and gave me so many great memories. This summer, I’m once again working in a hostel, this time in Bologna, Italy, and I’m enjoying the experience just as much as I did the first time around. It has reminded me how much I love this way of travelling — becoming part of a new place, meeting people from all over the world, and experiencing everyday life somewhere completely different.

For the winter, from around mid-October until mid-January, I’m ready for my next adventure and would love to make my way to Australia. I’m really excited to discover a completely new part of the world, contribute wherever I can, meet new people, and make some unforgettable memories along the way.

Cleanliness and organization are very important to me and something I naturally pay attention to. With around 10 years of experience in the gastronomy, I have developed a strong work ethic and a solid understanding of how things run. I also enjoy using my bartending skills and can definitely mix a great drink when needed!

Through my experience, I’ve learned to have a strong eye for detail and to take initiative. I like to get things done before even being asked and always try to be one step ahead.

I grew up in the countryside in Bavaria, so I’m familiar with gardening and general work around the house and farm. I enjoy hands-on work, don’t mind getting my hands dirty, and I’m always happy to learn new skills and try things I haven’t done before.

During my Workaway experience in Nice in 2018, I also managed the host’s social media and responded to online reviews for the hostel, so I feel confident in that area as well.

I absolutely love being around animals, my mother is a veterinarian, so I grew up surrounded by them and feel very comfortable taking care of them.

In my free time, I really enjoy playing board games and spending time with others. I’m a very social person and love good conversations and shared moments.

Music is also a big part of my life, whether it’s listening to it or singing myself. I also love being outdoors, exploring nature, and discovering new places. At the same time, I really enjoy visiting cities, going sightseeing, and experiencing the unique vibe of each place.
