Hi,
I'm Julia and am currently taking some time of after completing my bachelor's degree. I am a very open and creative person and enjoy new experiences, people and cultures more than anything else. Originally, I am from northern Germany, but I spent half a year in Prague for my studies in 2023, and through my relationship, I more or less have been living in the Netherlands for the last year. I studied social sciences with a focus on European societies and now I want to explore cultural exchange in a more practical and real-life way. Sustainability and nature conservation is one of my biggest passions and I want to dedicate my life to helping save our beautiful planet, big scale or small scale, which is why I would love to help with a sustainable project! As hobbies, I like to do anything creative, like painting, making jewellery, crocheting and much more. However, my second biggest passion in life is probably baking and cooking, where I also like to get creative. I live vegetarian and also cook and bake vegan a lot, and I am always excited about learning some new recipes. In general, I would describe myself as a curious, positive and enthusiastic person. I learn pretty fast and love to work together with people, but I also enjoy doing things by myself. I am very excited for the new adventures I will have through Workaway!

I am currently starting to learn Dutch, as I am spending a lot of time in the Netherlands and will probably move there for my studies in September. I will start an online course once a week soon, but I would also love to learn through connection and exchange. I could teach some German if interested.

My skills are pretty diverse, although I am not exactly an expert in all of them. One thing I find a lot of joy in is gardening. I loved helping my mother in her garden as a child, and had my own balcony to take care of during the covid lockdowns. However, since I was not able to garden as much, I am very excited to get into it again. I have a lot of experience in smaller creative projects and would love to use these skills on a bigger scale. I also have some experience in smaller house renovation projects, such as painting walls and building furniture, but I would like to gain more experience in this field. As mentioned in my description, I am a very good cook and baker, so I am always excited to do that. I also love animals, so I enjoy taking care of them. German is my native language, so I could teach it a bit, and my English is also at C1 level, so I could also help there.
