Description
Hello my name is Jozef :)
Motivation:
I shall have to start living, and not just promise myself life ~ Clarice Lispector
I am absolutely loving the workaway/wwoofing formula. It is incredibly rewarding to put my energy into projects where I can help take care of a place, a home, a group, animals, plants, children, elderly people, etc,…. I get to learn so much in return. I am interested in permaculture, gardening in general, farming, community living , plants, animalcare, DIY building and self sustainable living. In all of them I have some experience through previous volunteering and I would love to connect, care, communicate and live these things more through other volunteer experiences :) Meanwhile I am discovering other cultures and I would very much like to learn about yours! I am fit, I am motivated, I am a learner and a steady worker in team and individualy. Good communication and mentoring will make me better always :D
More about me:
The shortest path to oneself leads around the world ~ H. von Keyserling
In my free time I love movement like hiking, climbing, swimming, ping pong, frisbee,… I love reading, singing and being in nature. Talking with people about ideas, places and philosophy is lovely to do. I have respect for all. The spiritual world is very much alive and there is a lot out there, for me Jesus Christ is the one I follow which I guess means I am Christian in the literal sense, I don’t connect with religion on the same level tho because it’s corrupted in many ways and Totalitarian. Food is amazing and I am vegan. Cooking is always fun to learn more and travelling around countries I will be vegetarian if necessary. I don’t eat meat and I don’t do drugs. Those two are non-negotiables! If someone else does these things no problem. I like learning languages. Dutch is my mother tongue, my English is very good, German and French I can speak a little but would love to expand. I am learning Japanese and Spanish I would like to learn at some point as well :)
Experience:
Phanta rei. Nothing is, everything is becoming ~ Heraclitus
•7 months of volunteering through Wooffing/workaway in 5 different countries.
•I have certificates as a qualified animator for children’s summer camps with 6 months of experience over 5 years of summer vacation.
•I went to Steinerschool/Waldorfschool for 11 years which gave me base of gardening skills, creativity and thinking for my self instead of blindly following the system wich is why once I settle in I see a lot of the work and do more then my share
My first experience volunteering was in 2022, when I was in the Uk for three months. Volunteering through Wwoof in Wales and Engeland. In Wales I was with a wonderful woman named Janie on a small cottage who teached me in her garden in function to live a self sustainable life. I did treetrimming, weeding, making a tippi structure with bamboo for beans, planting, cleaning and such, … In England I was at Braziers park, an intentional community that exists since the 50s. Here I also did some gardening, but more so cooking, making beds, support with weekend events and help organising a little festival. Both rural peaceful setting in Wales and the big group of people community living had their qualities and I liked both.
More recently, my first one with workaway was 20/08/‘25 - 28/10/‘25 in Ireland where I worked on a animals rescue farm mostly for pigs, but also donkeys, sheep, goats and horses. Mainly took care of the amazing pigs which they had around 150 off! And around 200 animals. Feeding, poo cleaning, making beds, fixing fences, medicine and heavy lifting. There were 15 volunteers so it was another experience of community living and here I also really upped my level of vegan cooking :D
In December 2025 I was in Norway for 3 weeks where I was responsible for feeding around 20 chickens and 30 ducks (rescues ass well). I did quite some wood splitting which I like and the biggest project was building a dead hedge fence which was fun. Grateful for meeting Emma and Ove and helping them with their Småbruk (small farm)!
I am grateful for these experiences and the journey. I’m grateful for being. I am grateful for family, friends, animals, plants, the elements and all beings of nature teaching me, caring for me and sharing with me. Praise to god in the name of Jesus Christ!
Thanks for reading :)
