Hi, I'm Joanne from Yorkshire and I have just begun this year with my Workaway experience. So far I have helped out with gardening in Bulgaria and I am currently in Macedonia helping to maintain the apartments for an Erasmus and cultural exchange programme. For the last ten years I have been house/pet-sitting throughout Europe and working remotely in mainly translation, editing and writing. I speak English, French, and Spanish and open to learning more languages. I have volunteered with many projects in my local community previously and abroad including teaching language skills to refugees and others and also in community green spaces on city allotment sites where we grew many vegetables and herbs on a permaculture basis. I love nature, travel, culture, music, books, hiking, and the outdoors and keen to get back into volunteering and meeting other travellers and hosts from all walks of life on various projects.

I have lots of experience with looking after animals and garden maintenance of which I have done with many housesits and also in the past with my own allotment. I have some knowledge of permaculture and medicinal herbs. I have good communication skills and have hosted guests in hospitality settings such as small hotels and Airb&b's. I also have good language skills in French and Spanish alongside my native English language and open to any new learning.
