  • Description

Hi, we’re Josh and Anna. We both grew up in the UK and we met at university in Birmingham. We have a shared love for the great outdoors. We were both members of the Climbing Society at university. Some of our favourite activities are climbing and hiking. Our favourite hike we've ever done is Abel Tasman in New Zealand - 5 days of beautiful rainforest and sandy beaches, it was amazing!

We love having friends over and cooking a big meal and playing games as a group. We enjoy camping and cooking outdoors.

We are both animal lovers, both of us grew up with dogs and Anna introduced Josh to her love for cats. Once we moved in together we got our own cat, Suki who is now living with Anna's parents until we get home again.

Both of us have been very excited to travel, and after working and saving up we both left our jobs in November and took the leap.

We’ve both travelled in the past, Josh to volunteer in Botswana in 2018 for 12 months where he totally fell in love with the country and Anna went solo backpacking around Europe for 3 months when she was 19. Since meeting each other we have continued to travel Europe on vacation. One of our favourite places to visit together is Kefalonia in Greece.

We’re both looking forward to meeting lots of people and teaching them our favourite card, game monopoly deal!

  • More details about your skills

    Hi, I’m Anna.
I’m a confident, outgoing person who really enjoys experiencing new things. I love to paint and draw, and I hope to one day incorporate my creative side into my job and career. I’m also passionate about gardening and growing food, something I did a lot when we lived in the UK. My favourite plants to grow were nasturtiums, sunflowers, and chilli peppers.

I have hands-on experience helping my dad build garden buildings such as sheds, pottery studios, and summer houses. More recently, I worked for a local charity as a fundraiser, which was a fantastic role running community events like family fun runs and abseils. Before that, I worked for a women’s charity supporting women from over 100 countries. I especially loved working in communications, using social media to promote the charity’s work and raise awareness of its mission.

During university, I worked as a nanny, which involved collecting children from school, cooking, cleaning, and evening babysitting. More recently, we’ve been house-sitting and dog-sitting for a couple who travel the world visiting their children for several weeks at a time.

    Hi, I’m Josh.
I’m a curious and enthusiastic person, and enjoy new experiences and conversations. I’m a keen climber and hiker, having started both hobbies as a Scout and continued them through university and into adult life. I also love cooking for friends, especially in the summer when everyone can sit outside and eat together in the garden — even better when the meal includes some of Anna’s home-grown vegetables.

In 2018–19, I volunteered for 12 months at Bana Ba Metsi, a rehabilitation centre for boys at risk in northern Botswana. During my time there, I carried out site maintenance, repaired vehicles, drove to nearby villages to source supplies, and ran sports and ICT lessons for the students. It was an incredible experience and I completely fell in love with the country. I learned carpentry and mechanical skills from spending time with local trades people.

At university, I studied marketing and communications and have since worked for the Commonwealth Games, the NHS, and a number of independent businesses in the UK. My work has covered a broad range of marketing activities, including website design, SEO, graphic design, video and photography, and copywriting.

Since travelling, our love for the great outdoors has been reignited. Stepping away from desk-based work and reconnecting with nature has helped us feel like our best selves again, and I’m really excited about the opportunity to work in new and inspiring places and meet amazing new people.

  • What else ...

We love playing monopoly deal together and with friends. We have made a point of bringing with us to new countries in case people have never played it before. We think it is so great.

We both enjoy reading, and it's one of our favourite pastimes when we travel. Anna especially loves reading fantasy books. In 2024 she read over 60 books! She thinks she could do it again in 2026! Josh has more recently come to discover his love for books when he realised he didn't have to read 'boring ones' and can read about cars. Anna hopes he will continue to discover more books and one day he'll also find a fantasy series he loves.
