Hi there! We are Lucy and Jordan, a young couple from England, UK.

In September 2023 we started our travelling trip around South East Asia and recently discovered Work Away from another couple who we met in Vietnam. They told us about their experience with workaway and we were instantly intrigued. Work Away is a new experience for us both, but we are super excited to see what opportunities could be available to us!


Between us we have a variety of experience in multiple fields of work.

Lucy has experience in hospitality, retail, childcare and e-commerce/marketing. Lucy is a creative individual who has recently graduated from University with a degree in Fashion Creative Direction, whilst also gaining experience in social media marketing and content creation. Lucy is very forward thinking when it comes to her work, putting time and care into every task that she does. As an individual she is very determined and attentive and will always get the job done to the best of her ability.

Jordan is an experienced individual within the engineering industry. He was in the Royal Navy for 7 years as an Aircraft Engineer. His military experience has provided him with a wealth of discipline and strong teamwork ethics. He is an outgoing person, who isn't really phased by a challenge. Jordan is hard worker and headstrong individual who when he puts his mind to something, always willing to give everything 100%.

In terms of labour projects, we have both worked on a van conversion and home renovation together. These projects involved working with power tools, vehicle insulation, painting, decorating and general DIY practices.
In addition, we are both animal lovers, water sports enthusiasts (we have recently completed our SSI Open Water and Advanced Scuba Diving courses) and always up for adventure.

More details about my language interests
Lucy in particular is interested in languages, having studied Spanish at both Secondary School and Collage, she can string together sentences but is still practicing on her speaking and listening skills. She took a solo trip to Spain for a month which allowed her to practise these skills and thoroughly enjoyed learning about the people and culture. During our travels, we both try to learn at least the basic polite phrases in the local language - we may not always pronounce them correct, but we love to give it a go!

When working on our van conversion we not only worked on the inside of the van, but also the outside of the van; we stripped back and sanded the van of it's old look, in preparation for us to then respray it. We also incorporated a lighting and electrical system, as well as simple living amenities such as a gas stove, bed and sink.

We have also worked together on DIY tasks during a house renovation, by carrying out general maintenance to the property and modernising it's look.

Lucy has experience of working in retail for 2 years, general customer service and hospitality for over 2 years and more recently a few months experience in childcare, working with children ages 12 months - 12 years. Lucy also completed a years social media and contemporary e-commerce internship with Oxfam Charity, having gained experience in content creation and online sales.

Jordan has extensive knowledge and experience in engineering from his time in the Royal Navy. Working as an aircraft engineer and sheet metal worker. He is a quick learner and in good physical condition for harder labour activities.
