  • Description

    english below ;)

    Hallo Workaway,

    Hello Workaway,

My name is Johannes, I’m 33 years old and originally from northern Germany. I’m currently studying at the University of Eichstätt in Bavaria, where I’m completing my training to become a licensed psychotherapist. As a new chapter of my life is about to begin after my studies, I’m currently trying to figure out which kind of living situation and lifestyle would be the right fit for me.

So far, I’ve lived and studied in cities such as Leipzig and Hamburg, but these days I feel increasingly drawn to nature. That’s why I’d be very happy to get to know and experience different ways of living and community-based projects.

In return, I can contribute as a handyman and as a friendly person to talk to. I come from a family of craftsmen and learned a trade myself at a young age as an industrial mechanic. I’m comfortable working with wood, metal, and electrical systems. Alongside my studies, I’ve worked as a shipbuilder, electrician, and self-employed installer. So I’m also able to take on projects independently!

I find it easy to become part of a community, I like to think ahead and contribute my ideas, and I enjoy exchanging thoughts and experiences with others. Through my travels and studies, I also speak very good English.

  • More details about your skills

My father is a carpenter who taught me handiwork and woodwork at any early age (I made most of the furniture in my room). My mother is an artist and instilled in me a love of creativity and has even taught me a few techniques for imprinting wood. 5 years ago I finished my apprenticeship as a mechanic; although I do not do much work in this area any more I still have sound knowledge of metalwork and electronics.

Recently I renovated a house from scratch with my father, gaining a lot of DIY knowledge and skills in the process.
