Hi! I am Joana, 32 years, living in Berlin, and working in sustainabiltiy since a few years (Circular Economy, regenerative agriculture). Currently I am taking an office-job-break and want to learn more on the ground and with my hand. I explore how I can combine the "thinking" better with the "doing" and "connecting with people and nature" side . I already voluntered in Canada, Brazil, and Spain at farms, both in larger communities and with individuals/families, and always enjoyed it a lot.
I am an open-minded, curious, and calm person who loves getting to know new people and connecting with them. I like doing sports (especially hiking and cycling), being outside, and doing work with and in nature. -

I have experience in regenative agriculture/permaculture, taking care of animals, gardening, and basic wood work. I have a background in environmental science and sustainability. I am quite fast in picking up and learning new things and do not mind physical work and getting my hands dirty. I am also quite good in organising things and enjoy diverse type of tasks.

I spent a wonderful week at Jo and Chris’s place. Both of them are amazing human beings, inspiring, generous, open‑minded, and very easy to get along with. My work was diverse (mulching, weeding, oiling wood, cutting grass...), and I enjoyed working alongside Chris while still having a lot of independence.

Joana was super lovely to have around :) She is open minded, always pleasant-natured, with a calm demeanour, and was able to take some initiative and help to get the shared accommodations well organized with her colleagues. I loved staying at this amazing house in Seattle, it was simply perfect. All the five of them, living in a beautiful spot in Seattle, are so nice, welcoming, and open people. You feel like home right away. They integrate you into their daily life and I joined them for example when going to a Baseball game or seeing bioluminescence at an Island

Joana was an excellent worker. Our garden looks vastly better now than it did when she arrived. And she cooked us an excellent vegetable curry. She is also fun to have around and was great integrating into the house and our pool of friends. We would be delighted to have her back any time.

We can certainly recommend Joana as a good worker and practical person. She asks a lot of questions, learns her role and does it well. She was great with our kids and they enjoyed spending time with her. She was very independant, explored on her own and made friends easily. Enjoy the rest of your trip Joana!
