Tanja likes to work in the garden and with animals. I like manual tasks and DIY. However, we both just want to stay occupied and are happy to learn new tasks as required.

Description

We are travelling around Spain exploring this beautiful country. We are improving our Spanish skills every day and enjoy experiencing the different customs and variations between the regions.

I am originally from the UK and Tanja, my wife, is German. We have lived in Andalucia for 2 years.

Tanja has previously done similar workaway roles in Sweden, Portugal, Spain and France for a period of 2 years - although via a different social media site.

I enjoy rock climbing and I look for long hikes in the mountains when possible. Tanja loves the sea and lakes and rivers. So we try and find a balance of both whenever we can.

We both love animals and have provided house sitting duties for friends previously.
An evening deep in conversation with good food and wine is just as important as a quiet evening spent reading a book.

I have a background as a software engineer so social media and creation of internet sites is not new to me. However, my preference would be to assist with more demanding physical tasks.

I enjoyed many years growing up helping my father with DIY tasks, then on my own projects when I purchased a house as an adult - building a conservatory, some landscape gardening, basic carpentry and plumbing etc. I am happy to work with wood, and always keen to learn further skills as necessary.
Getting my hands dirty and hard manual work is something I am very content to do. An exhausting day of hard work is fulfilling for the mind and leads to a night of good sleep.

I am comfortable around cats and dogs and can apply myself to providing the loving cuddles and care where necessary. I have not worked around larger animals such as horses nor cows, but again I would not shy from helping out.

I am a native English speaker, although have 2 years speaking Spanish. Learning another language has given me a perspective how I would teach language to another person.
